Does at+t offer unlimited data plans to new subs? I don't see it listed on their web site.

They stopped offering it back in June I think. You can still get it through a loophole if you own an original iPhone. Search for 2G plan to unlimited.

The loophole if you have an IMEI number from a "dumbphone" still seems to be working as well.

Oh so any at+t dumbphone users are grandfathered in? I am debating if I shoud get the iphone 4 or touch 4. I am on at+t.

What language shall we say it in?

Unlimited = NO CAP!

minus the courts have already said otherwise.

Unlimited does not mean excessive usage. That little part gives them a lot of room to play around in at were they started declaring excessive usage. Chances are all they need to do is prove you are in the top 1-2% of people data wise and they can nail you for it. Just show that the person is an outlier and you can be hit.

I personally would rather say AT&T just start throttling the people busting 5gigs and limit them to edge speeds or slower. I am tired of being on the side that has my service screwed up by the data hogs. Limit their speed.
Honestly AT&T could care less if those 3% or so of people left and went to another carrier. They are negative profit to AT&T any how. To AT&T they figure some one else can loss money on having them.

5gigs is about the break even point for $30 a month data plan for AT&T.

I doubt that they would let me go for being a data hog since I pay them $240 per month for three iPhones. What I pay in a year more than covers the cost of the 8-12GB I use per line each month.

Your math is just a little bit off.

If you use 10GB a month, that would be considered heavy user, top 5 percent for sure. But guess what that means you only use as much data as 5 other people (assuming those people reach the 2gig cap every month).

Alternatively how many people aren't even reaching 2GB a month on the 2GB plan. You could easily think of yourself was using there free capacity.
