I'm trying for $350 for my 32 gb black AT&T iPhone 4 (excellent condition). No takers yet on Craigslist. :(

I am no pro at selling on eBay , but I put my 4s 64GB for starting bid $99.99 and buy it now for $580 sold within 24 hours and had a few bids go up to $200 or more. it's all about description, photos and if you have 100% feedback. I had the original box , unused headphones and cables. Makes a difference

I just sold my GSM unlocked and jailbroken black iPhone 4 32 gb on craigslist yesterday for 280, without the charger and in OK condition. Scratched back and camera lens (so bad it took terrible pictures). It also had a couple of chunks of the plastic band missing on the corners from being dropped, one major scratch on the bottom of the face below the home button. (2 years of case-less use with two young kiddos).
Just to give you an idea of what the market was like yesterday before the invite went out.

I doubt many are paying attention to the invite. They won't know until it's announced and all over the news.

That said, $350 is a lot for a 4. I would be happy to get $350 for my 4S 32GB, but I doubt I will get that much for it. I should just unlock it.

You never know, he might change his mind about the new one coming out. I'd say sell it now.

I sold my iphone 4 to him and a year ago and he is trustworthy. That is why I said the peace of mind is well worth losing $50 bucks.

I would never make the assumption if I did not know the person I was selling to. I am not naive!

Ahh good for you. I always sell to a specific person too.

Going to list my immaculate 16gb White 4 with Otterbox Commuter for $250 with the intention of taking from there to $200. Most are being listed in my area for $300 plus. I just want enough to pay for my 16gb IP5.

Sold my 16GB black i4 on ebay for $362 last week.
I called AT&T and had them unlock it so it brought in a little more. Also it was in great contition with box and all.

I've had horrible luck with selling my 4S on eBay, see my previous post :(

I think I remember you said the first buyer didnt pay with confirmed adress and when you relisted you didnt get as much right?
I hear you, ebay is tough and some users will try to scam sellers. Get the phone and then get their money back from paypal.
I know a scumbag guy that all he does is buy and sell stuff there and if the seller doesnt ship it with signature confirmation he gets his money back from paypal claiming he never got it. Or he claims that the phone is broken, asks to return it back for a refund and sends back an old cellphone or TV remote instead.
Its a risk. I only sell stuff there once a year or so and hope I get lucky with a decent buyer.

Good lord...

That is HORRIBLE :(

What a dick, people like that are the reason why I could never sell things on eBay

Please tell me he's not a friend of yours ;)

The problem with the last buyer is he contacted me and said "Sorry, error bid" give me a break! Just because a new iPhone is coming doesn't give you an excuse not to pay me! $480 would've been a steal for him also.

So if he sees the same phone for less, he will still buy from you.

Yeah, same here, I only sell once a year and hope for good buyers. I also sell internationally (which drives up the price for unlocked iPhones), but carefully and only to selected locations. I've had good luck with APO/FPO (military bases) buyers, although they don't do delivery confirmation there which means longer wait time for the fund to be released.

As for scammers who return stuff other than the original iPhone, a seller here successfully got money back from paypal by carefully documenting (completed with photos) that the returned iPhone wasn't the same as the original.

It could go the other way. I had a bidder who changed his mind but re-listed and sold it for $25 more to an APO/FPO buyer.

Well, I'm not going to try to relist it for a 2nd time. I never have problems with eBay until I try to sell Apple products.
