Do not sell your used iPhone 4/4s for the next month or so. Everyone is offloading them at this time and you will not get much. In a month or 2 the used market will dry up a little and you get get $50 to 75$ more at this time.

If you don't need the money to upgrade to the iPhone 5 just keep your old one for a little longer.

So if he sees the same phone for less, he will still buy from you.

Yes. He was the one that told me that the going price was $550-500 for a 64g 4s. I told him I would accept less for the guarantee.

He knows that my phone is in perfect shape and I have apple care+. I have also told him that if the going price drops significantly, I am open to renegotiating the price. It is a win win situation for both of us.

Agreed! I did this with my iPhone 3G and couldn't believe it. I thought the value would go down but indeed it went up.

All the resellers are buying them up know to flip them down the road. I did this when the iPad 2 was released, I pick up 2 iPad 64 3G for 250$ each resold them for 400$ each a few months later.

I'm wondering if it's because people do not notice how expensive it is for them to upgrade until they go into a store or that people just want to settle for the next best thing if the 5 isn't something they need.

I sold my unlocked black 32 GB iPhone 4S for $450 last week. I'm using my galaxy nexus until the 5 is released. Starting to really like android jelly bean though so we'll see.

Supply and demand, there is a large supply of people wanting the new iPhone. If 5 million used iPhone go on the market all at once the pice will go down. Once all the hardcore fans who want the latest iPhone 5 have there iPhone 5 the supply will stable out for the used phones.

What till November to sell!!!!

I usually just sell mine to Ebay instant sale, going for almost 300$ right now. That will cover my upgrade and my case. Good enough for me and no hassle to deal with.

i have a locked white 4s locked to att in great condition. i have box, etc, just no headphones. i signed up for amazon trade in for $357. its in really good condition, just a small dent on the top right corner of the phone. the label is good for one week. i will look at the price everyday and cancel and redo the process if it stays the same price or of course goes up. i recommend doing the same. I'm starting to believe this. I cannot even get $400 on CL for my mint 16GB iPhone 4S w/ accessories. I thought it would sell quick too.

I think the issue is there are too many 4S 16GB up for sale, compared to 32Gb or 64GB versions. Kind of oversupply problem when compared to 32Gb or 64Gb versions.
