The iPad Pro 12.9" was never anticipated to be a large seller. It appeals to a very small niche of customers. It's just another size option. I'm pretty certain both the 9.7" and the 7.9" outsell it handily.

Yeah, just the like 17" Macbook Pro appealed to a small sector of graphics professionals, right? You see what Apple did there....

Yes, I do see what they did there, lol. The thing is, for me at least, I have the 9.7" version. I had the first version of the iPad Air before that. I am just wanting the bigger version, if for nothing else outside of a bigger screen, for the bigger split screen ability. I am not so called power user. It is but a toy for me, but one I do enjoy. So, what do you think?

I had a 12.9 and bought a 9.7 pro to complement it. The 12.9 is nice, works really good for me, much like a Macbook Pro with better sound, more portable, little bit less keyboard, lighter, LTE. 9.7 is "just another iPad" with pencil and a keyboard that works (Bluetooth has been horrible for me). But together?
Holy crap on a cracker!

I'm doing a law study and have all my books digital. I read them on the 9.7, which is a nice pocket sized display. Then I make summaries on my 12.9 using Nebo (freaking brilliant app! Writing does give me more retention, the conversion to typed text does make it a whole lot easier to read back the week before my exams.) Two iPad and I have an endless library and endless notebook. Well, until the battery runs out :D

When I'm away for work and and don't need to do anything (just a meeting), I take the 9.7, it's light, easy and only difference is less real estate. If I need to work (write text/make appointments/have meetings) I take the 12.9 and sneak the 9.7 with me as well. 12.9 for writing, 9.7 for sharing documents, asking clients to read etc.

Often both my 12.9 and 9.7 are empty around 17h00.

It's an insane investment, two 256Gb LTE iPad Pro's, I'm a bit ashamed, so much money.
But for me it's really working.
YMMV

Glad I am not alone in owning both. Only difference both of mine are 128GB and only the more portable 9.7 has LTE.
When I purchased the 12.9 the 128 was the largest option, and when the 9.7 came out I debated the 256, but decided to use extra money towards LTE. Even my iPhone which I've always maxed out, I opted for the 128 over the 256. With so much up in iCloud and iOS optimizing photos so they don't take up that much room on the device anymore I have not needed 256 yet. I still always struggle with not buying the max storage space on my iOS (actually almost all) of my computer devices.

I have worked my 12.9 IPP into my workflow quite nicely. Makes a great addition to my fleet and saves me from having to utilize multiple devices and switch back and forth. 12.9 might be awkward and not for some but it works for me

I have the same reservations, but I bought the 16Gb iPhone 4S and installed TomTom West-Europe on it, it became a phone with a tomtom. And not much more then that, there wasn't much space left.
After that I always bought the maximum capacity. I usually use my phone 2 years and after that my wife want's it or a neighbor/nephew etc.

LTE on the 12.9 wasn't necessary, but I never would have guessed I would like the iPad so much, let alone buying two of them. If I where to do it over again, I would by just the 9.7 with LTE and the 12.9 non-LTE.

Perhaps we need to start a new thread about having both iPad Pro's? :D

And to get this thread back on topic...

I've had good luck selling Pros. It took me a few to figure out which model would fit my needs best.

I started with a 12.9", 128GB wifi model. Sold with keyboard and Pencil for what I paid (I bought on sale). Took two days on Swappa.

Switched to a 9.7, 128GB as well, but with LTE. Sold with keyboard and broke even. Took about a day to sell, also on swappa.

Ended up on a 12.9", 256GB LTE model, and couldn't be happier with it.

Just sold my iPad Pro 12.9 on Swappa. Looking forward to the next generation. Since owning both the Retina Macbook 12 and iPhone 7 Plus, the iPad Pro was collecting dust. It was great for what it did, but I didn't utilize the pencil as much as I thought I would.

And, thank you!

Looks like you've done allright with selling, how comes, bought at the right price the first time, but second time wasn't a a sale?!

What do you use the LTE for?

The first Pro I had found a daily deal on eBay. The second I bought via Verizon on 2-year pricing, but just wasn't happy with the size for drawing.

As for LTE, I use it exclusively for internet, as I'm in a pretty rural area. My iPad Pro handles about 95% of all my work, and my relaxing is split between my iPhone and iPad. I'll occasionally tether with my MacBook Pro, but the iPad has replaced it for most things. For me, LTE is essentially easy, always on internet.

I've also found that the 12.9" has moderately better reception in my area.

Yeah, I've noticed the 12.9 having much better reception than my iphone 6S and a bit better (but not that much) then my 9.7.

A bit of topic, but I like the aluminum LTE-patch on the 9.7 a lot more then compared to the 12.9's black strip.

Agreed. So much. It looks way cleaner and classier, in my opinion. That being said though, I worry that the smaller band was part of my lower reception issue.

Interesting! I assume you have the same wireless carrier on both devices?

I actually used the same Verizon SIM between a 9.7" and 12.9" Pro. The 12.9" simply had better reception - to the point that it was very noticeable. As for speed, they were roughly equal when showing similar reception in my area.

This won't necessarily be the case for everyone. If you've got great LTE in your area? The 9.7" Pro will probably be faster on it and will hold signal fine. But for those like me, who have less reception or spotty LTE and rely more on 3G? The 12.9" Pro or Air 2 will likely serve you better.

Yes, I have a plan with three sim-cards, so they are indeed the same provider.
Hmmm. And here I was thinking T-Mobile (on my 12.9" IPP) has a better data signal than AT&T (on my iPhone 6s). Looks like it may not be just the networks, but also the devices themselves.

Ive posted on facebook, offer up and craigslist and havent received a single call.. Its a 128gb 12.9 ipad pro (cellular and wifi) space grey rarely used only had for a month.. I tried putting it on ebay but I can not post anything abouve $500 since im a new member.. How much can I get for it? I had it for $950 and now I dropped it to $750

A brand new 128G 12.9 iPad Pro without cellular is $899.00 ($1029 with cellular)

As someone mentioned see what others are selling it for. Not just one person but most. I see them sold for 550 and 600 as well as more $. Why would I spend 750 if I can buy one for 550?

Re-selling you usually get half what you paid. Sometimes a bit more if it's a hot item. This iPad is not.
