I actually saw some on eBay that were precut for unibody Macs (Arrandale pros should come in the same form factor I presume), but they have a slit on each corner for the contour and the sides don't go all the way to the edges of the shell (for mass fitment I guess).

i like the ones on ebay :)
what do you think a bout the ones that cover the whole part where the keyboard is (top case?)?

Best I could take with my iPhone (my only dc) without it blurring.

Not sure which ones you're referring to, but I personally prefer the feel of aluminum on areas my palms are constantly in contact of.

I have some of the 3M Vinyl coming, in Matte Black, and I plan on doing the same as this.

Have you got any advice?

I am wondering how you cut around the apple in the back? Did you just take a craft knife and cut around it? Or did you try to fold it inside the computer?

What about the outer edge? Is that folded back in, or cut at the very edge?

I have a large enough piece that I can cover the base part too, which I do intend to do as well.

Not sure yet what to do about the keyboard/trackpad yet really, as I can't really use the vinyl on these. I may get some reflective tape for some kind of detailing or extra decoration.

Thanks, and wonderful job!

Nice!~ Since you alreay have the pattern down you should consider selling them on ebay, shipping would be a snap (and cheap). Who knows how much you could make.

Charge enough to make it worth your while. People assume high price means high quality.

I should do this on my iPad, it looks way cool. (Also a good way to cover that butt-ugly 3G antenna).

I took the top off my lapop and removed the bezel and screen until it was just the aluminum shell.

I took the apple out and begin applying the wrap on the shell. Cut it approximately sized and laid it flat, then the edges and lastly the corners.

You cant really wrap the vinyl behind de to the thinkness of the carbon wrap, not sure about matte black, so I just trimmed it along the edge, same with the apple cutout trim from behind.

For the corners I had to work the vinyl with a hairdryer to get the excess material folding up when they fold around a corner. I think I might have stretched the corners a bit too much because they started to shrink and peel a bit after a while, so you might want to be careful not to overstretch it.

Other than that the edges are holding up pretty good, the corners stretching I'm not sure maybe I stretched it too much or the radius was too small for the material to adhere to.

As far as dirt and damage it's holding up pretty well.
