I have mine shoved up against something. For whatever reason Apple decided that angling them was perfect. I prefer mine more vertical. One of these days when I have some money the desk(s) these sit on will be designed so the arm is higher than the base of the display, forcing it to be more vertical. That exact issue happened to an ACD I know in 2016, after 13 years of use.
I prefer the aluminum variants for obvious reasons.
Right after I got my 17" Studio Display, I realized that its arm is also failing and won't prop itself up, so it is permanently at a far-back angle, very opposite to how it should be.It still works nice otherwise. I should really get myself a setup to make it less awkward on a desk. Right now it's actually sitting on top of my G3/G4s on the floor, so it's a moderate viewing angle from sitting in a chair, I guess.
@Adamscomputerrepair Be sure to show up photos of it up and running when you get the adapter.

Both screens are confined to displaying the same image though.Apart from the Dr Bott adapter, there seemed to be another ADC converter on the market in the US by Gefen. The company still exists today. This splitter box allowed you to run two ACDs from one ADC graphics card port.

As far as VGA to ADC conversion goes, there's the DVIator's brother, aptly named VGAtor.
I've run two 23in ACDs (3840×1200) from a single VGA output, it wasn't too bad actuallyI’ll stick to DVI lol. I haven’t used anything VGA in 5 years with the exception of hooking my G3 to an external monitor to say I could.
I’ll order it from eBay and pray to God USPS is gentle.
Don't count on it. They wrecked the aluminum handles / housing on a Power Mac G5 I ordered.
I couldn't tell you my anger that day.
