Just got one of the new 2012 Macbook Pros. Its not that much better than the current one.

And I was going to get the MBP this summer. It was going to be my very first Mac.
But with news of a radical change, should I wait?

I am not in College/University or anything like that, so....

But I am one of those people that like to have greatest :D

Foolish mentality... buy it now and it will "suck" in 2012.... buy in 2012 and it will suck in 2013. It never ends. But on the bbright side, its people like you that help keep revenues up...

...As you're buying a MBP, I can only assume performance matters to you. So, I would suggest buying now (as the new ones are wicked fast) or waiting 2 years for Intel's Haswell CPUs. The early 2012 model doesn't seem like it will have anything worth waiting 10 months for.

I like your logic. It makes me feel a lot better about my 2011 purchase. I can't say I won't be tempted to sell the current model if the refresh improves ventilation. My biggest complaint about the current generation is that the CPU gets pretty damn hot. Perhaps a redesign would help out in that arena.

Agreed. The new models will have a 99.9% failure rate and will overheat and cause a fire hazard. I wouldn't want to buy the new model. I heard they will remove the DVD drive. HAHAHA, how you gonna watch a movie without a DVD drive???

I can't figure out if this is supposed to be ironic or not

They're not going to remove the superdrive from the MBP. If anything, I'd like for them to start supporting Blu-Ray. What would the Apple name for a Blu-Ray drive be? Megadrive? Ultradrive? :p

Movies without a DVD drive? Hmmm, ever hear of Netflix?

I don't think that means what you think it means.

Ironic=/= sarcastic.

Yes yes,, lets' all wait to buy, then there are no sales at all, Apple goes under.

Then you have to buy a Pc. Sound thinking
