SO I took my MBP through a carwash...

Well it was in sleep mode when it happened. But it wasn't really a lot of water, and i guess i did turn it on about an hour afterwards. Has been working fine since apart from not recharging the battery.

A new AC adapter and new battery have both yielded similar results, suggesting its the DC-in board. Lets hope its not the Logic board.
