There is absolutely no doubt in my mind that you will buy a 3GS within the next month or two. Maybe sooner. ;)

Hee Mavis called it! ;)

I said the iPhone 3G's GPS wasn't accurate. Now that I have a 3GS, it's very accurate. I like my new 3GS. It's very nice! (as Borat would say)

I switched to white (16GB). I liked the black but it actually was more a deep purple in the sun, and in general it didn't match the apple headphones I had, so I thought I'd try the white.

Well, I love the white. It makes the phone look way classier and really speaks "Apple" for some reason to me (a reference to the iPod I guess).

TheSpaz is nothing if not predictable. I've been a member here long enough to have witnessed innumerable about-faces with him, so I knew - beyond the shadow of doubt! - that despite his vociferous complaining, he'd have a 3GS within a month. ;) It surprises me to hear that he went with the black one instead of white, but hearing the 'logic' behind this choice made me laugh, at least.

Anyway, enjoy the phone, Spaz. I am!! ;)

Thanks Mavis. I was actually mulling it over for a little while. The deal is... my white iPhone 3G is developing cracks and is all scratched up. It's also got a scratch on the screen and I think I finally lost my mind when it was being so freakin' slow while listening to music and trying to use maps at the same time. I don't think 2.0 was as much of a memory hog. I realized that the iPhone *NEEDED* more RAM, so I hopped on the highway and drove to the Apple Store. After playing with some 3GSs, I made up my mind. I'm glad I did it because it SCREAMS and doesn't lag a single bit. Plus, I'm excited to see what else Apple has in store for future software upgrades that take advantage of the better graphics, CPU and RAM. At least now Apple has some room to add onto the software without worrying about RAM filling up.

For the record... in the other thread where I said I wasn't going to get a 3GS, I think I actually stated that it wasn't a final decision, it was just the way I was feeling at the moment. My girlfriend is disappointed that I gave in to my obsession... hah!

with black you can't see all the CRACKS that happen in the plastic of the phone... with white they are very easy to see and exchange for an uncracked one.

Of course, every uncracked iPhone will eventually be a cracked iPhone. I'd rather not be able to see it (or have potential buyers be able to see it) at all.

But the cracks are your ticket to a free replacement, right? For example, my brand new 3GS has got a small speck of dust lodged under the glass 0.1mm from the home button cutout. Big deal? No. Exchange-worthy? Nope. But I notice it and it kind of bugs me, so I'm looking forward to my first case cracks, so that I can get the phone replaced! ;)

I always felt since the front of the phone is black, the black iPhone looked best with the sleek bezel to contrast it.

Being a male just turned 30, black just is more adult looking IMO

I just bought my 3GS on Friday after having a 2G and a standard 3G 8GB (black).

I kept it the same color, NINJA BLACK, BABY!!!!!

But you mentioned that your power button is loose. I've looked at a couple 3GS' and none of the buttons have been loose but I have noticed that the sleep/wake button and volume rocker are a little more inset than on the 3G.

What do you think of this? Do you find it harder to get the buttons to recognize your pushes? Am I crazy in thinking this was intentional by Apple and am actually seeing several defective phones?

I do believe that Apple likes to make those buttons harder to press with each revision of the iPhone. I vastly prefer to the button layout of the original iPhone because they were easier to press.

I knew it would Be

Spaz I luv ya like the Demi-Brother you are but I also knew you would have a new 3GS too. I am however shocked you chose Black? Nice going, I have many of the same concerns you do and have always had the Black. I will say it helped me by placing this on my phone. I can't say enough good things about the combo. No fingerprints and it's very thin/snug so you don't notice in there. I'd rather no Naked any day but my OCD prevents that.
Glad u made it to the Dark Side (super sized) 32GB.

:)
