The iPhone 7 includes a lightning to 3.5mm adapter. Why would you not just use that to connect to your tape adapter?

I use a bluetooth one in my truck, it's clunky to pair and the battery only lasts roughly 4 hours. It's a viable alternative if carrying around multiple adaptors is a no go or charging+listening is needed.

No, that ended about 8 years ago when they stopped putting cassettes in cars anymore.
I'm not going to blame iPhone 7 for that.
