Good point, I am sure he had no idea there are problems with thousands of children dieing every day because of starvation when he posted this. Now that this has come to light we better either ban all posts with problems that are less trivial then that issue or post a message in every one of those threads reminding people that there are more serious issues.

On the other hand we could always remember that this is MacRumors and just stick to talking about Apple related topics without the need to be reminded about such issues when they have nothing to do with the post. Or better yet, do discuss those issues on MacRumors, in the appropriate forum, Community Discussion -> Politics, Religion, Social Issues.

Easy fix... sell current iPhone 4S. Purchase iPhone 4 , new black bumper fits no problem. Girlfriend happy!

o gosh, you are worrying over the smallest things. If you are man, this should be a small case, you should take care of it without asking. How are you suppose to get married and have kids? You are bigger things waiting for you.

What? Just what?

He's not a man for worrying about a case that doesn't fit and still wanting to keep his GF happy?

Your post makes no sense, whatsoever!

Poor peron has probably got some mental issues. probably has a depressing life of not being the sharpest tool in the shed

OP, what you did is right, just buy a new one and be happy. If you get the chance then sell it or return it. Apple will more then likely be happy to take it back. Your girlfriend being happy that she got you a good gift is most important in this situation.

Yes, a sudden internet trend in lameness. From what I have seen it is often posted by people who have nothing to contribute or don't know an answer but feel that they need to add their two cents. They want to pretend that the issue is so trivial and how could the person possibly care about something so insignificant, it makes them feel better about themselves even though if the issue were happening to them they would be whining and bitching about it.

Nice post, made me chuckle :)

Lol you guys are weird. Why can't you just tell her it doesn't fit? Maybe she can return it and get her money back. It's the thought that counts, and she still did a nice thing by getting you a gift even though it's not the right one.

Definitely not the right fit, and you shouldn't have to keep something that doesn't do what it is supposed to do. So you're better off getting a proper girlfriend.

Some of the things people post on here is ridiculous though.

"Omg my screen leaks a tiny bit of light!! Shall I exchange it?"
"Omg there's a spec of dust under my screen!! Shall I exchange it?"
"Omg my screen has a slight yellow tint!! Shall I exchange it?"

Suck it up and be pleased you're priviliged enough to be able to afford such devices, many can't.

FYI: I would NEVER complain about any the "issues" above.

The plastic wrap my iphone 4s came in was scratched... should I exchange it for a new one? It really ruined the experience of my unboxing.

Yes, the unboxing experience is very important to Apple, they put a lot of money into the packaging to make sure it is perfect, go ahead and exchange it so you can open it again. ;)

And it's the wrong one. She got me an iPhone 4 bumper. And I have the 4S. As we all know, The buttons are lower on the 4S. It doesn't match up.

I have a white 4S Apple Bumper and it is superb. She knew I wanted a black one too. Well she got me one, But it's the wrong one.
I didn't want to say anything, and hurt her feelings. I put it on In front of her. She didn't know.

BUT anyway. Anyone think Apple will exchange it for me? Im going to call them shortly. I'm hoping they exchange it.
(I don't have a receipt. But I'm pretty positive only Apple sells 'Official' Apple bumpers.

Happen to anyone?

OK. The black picture isn't good at all. But you can see my problem.

Now that I look at it..It looks a little scratched. Maybe she bought it off Ebay??? Either way, Im on hold with Apple right now..

Who's your girlfriend? I'll tell her everything.

Just kidding. Buy a new one and dont say anything. Not everyone knows each Apple product like us, including you.

Complaint one and three are legit. You pay the equivalent of $650 for the thing by the time the contract is up. Don't suck it up, for that much money you should be happy with your product. I object to you trying to guilt people into thinking otherwise.

No, no they're not legit at all. They're complaints made by obsessive whiny little babies.

My phone has a slight yellow tint but I don't give a damn. Why? Because I use it, I don't obsess over the shading of the screen.
