I'm using the Belkin n600 and it's fine. I had the same problem but changes the channel from auto to a higher channel number fixed mine. I also love the usb port on the back I use it for my external HD for my itunes account.

Hows the speed on the USB drive? I read somewhere the drive has to be FAT32 formatted. Is that true?

I was finally able to resolve my wifi issues today, without having to buy a new router!

I took my mac to the inlaws (they have the same router I do) and i found i was getting 10x the connection speed i was at home. I also realized that her wifi was the only one in the area.

I live in a development and at any given time, my system detects 12+ routers. So, i figured maybe my issues were one of a congested frequency! I have a linkysys wr54g v1 router. I changed the channel and BAM, i'm now getting the speeds i should be.

Hi all, I wanted to add my experience as well as this last post was very helpful in resolving my wife's new rMBP wifi slowness issues. We have a MediaLink Wireless-N Router on 2.4 Ghz using channel 6. The rMBP wifi download speed was crawling at < 1 Mbps while other laptops/mobiles were getting > 10 Mbps. I switched to channel 1 and the rMBP immediately jumped up to 6 Mbps. I played around with other channels like 11, 13, 2 but for some reason only channel 1 was getting a reasonable speed. So at least this resolved it for us. Hope this helps someone else in not having to go buy a new router. :)

This is complete bullS. I don't have time to worry about my router or settings for it. Apple has always worked out of the gate. This is disappointing as *****.

I was expeciencing frequently net drops with my 2012 rMBP, I swapped it with a 2013 rMBP and am not having this issue anymore.
