So we get the new big iPad, 4th generation.

I guess Apple is now gonna release both iPads in the fall, so we are gonna have to wait until October next year for the new big iPad.

What do you think? Is the 4th generation iPad enough of an upgrade to wait until next fall?

Nobody can tell now.

----------

Look at the iPhone for hints. The 4S and now the 5 are announced in the fall. I don't think Apple's going to do a whole lot of spring announcements when they can make a bigger splash for fall.

Laptops will likely continue to get summer updates for back to school

The iPhone will still keep the one year cycle, since there's still a number behind its name. The iPad dropped the number this year and it's updated in 7 months. When the iPad 2 came out John Gruber said there will be another one in the fall. Everyone laughed at him when it didn't happen last year, I guess Apple just decided not to do so last year because the competitions were too weak.

Screw it, I'm done waiting. Think I'm gonna jump on the "4th generation" ipad and enjoy that retina screen. If a 5 comes out in March, I'll just suck it up and ignore it. In a couple years, I can sell this one and upgrade. Pretty excited to jump into iPad ownership.

What would March bring ?

They have already moved to the A6X which is cutting edge.
They have already moved to the lightening connector
They already have a retina display and quality camera

The new Ipad is pretty much state of the art.. and beats all the android tablets (though samsung may have a credible nexus 10 on Monday).

There is no need for a March update.

iPad 5 will have A6Q(quad core CPU, quad core GPU), IGZO LCD Display(thinner, lighter, energy efficiency) and will launch on March 8, 2013.
