You don't wish you'd waited until the new macbook air is released? What if they keep the old keyboard....I'm very happy with my MBP.
The keyboard is ok in terms of feel, I've gotten used to it, even if its not my cup of team. Time will tell about its durability. The performance is outstanding, the display is gorgeous.
I have absolutely no buyers remorse, compare that with the Razer I bought (and returned) and I had a had some level of buyers remorse that was difficult to pin down, but as I contemplated what I was going through, I realized I missed the macOS/Apple ecosystem. Since coming to that conclusion, I've been extremely satisfied with this purchase![]()
Very happy with my 15” 2.6/512/560X.
Only on the internet, where dust gets created in the first place. On my 13 TB 256GB, I only had one issue. After the software update my Touch ID stopped working. A support call had me create another user ID and that fixed it. Other than that glitch I’m a happy camper. Now just trying to decide on external storage. Is that dusty enoughTitle:
"So now that the dust has settled..."
The "dust" hasn't settled yet.
Wait about 6 more months, and it will be settling down...
I like the gigantic trackpad.
I was going to get a 13” but ended up with a 15” 2.6/512/560X instead. Love the speed and capability of the machine, still getting used to the size of the device!
I have the same model and am coming from a 2016 13 inch and a 2017 15 inch. The keyboard is, in my opinion, much improved. It's not mildly noticeable--it's very clear to me. There does feel like there is more travel and perhaps because these keys seem to give a little bit more "spring," if that makes sense.13" 8gb of ram 512 SSD owner here. Upgraded from a 2017 MBP. I love the keyboard, the much improved speakers, and for some reason I feel like my battery life is a bit better. I am probably going to keep this machine for the next two to three years. Loving it.
It's why I kept this machine---the keyboard really is much improved.Keyboard is significantly better than the 2017 model. That little silicone strip dramatically improves the feel of the rebound at the bottom of each key press.
For me, the 6-core i9 behavior isn’t noticeably different from the 4-core i7. I was expecting radically faster big-program load times (e.g., InDesign, Illustrator) with the new SSD, but other than the keyboard, it doesn’t _feel_ much different from the 2017. It _is_ measurably a few percent quicker for the things I do, but the “speed feel” is not noticeably different for me.
The dominant benefit of the 2018 upgrade for me is absolutely the keyboard.

I didn't mind the other one, but this is a joy to type on. For real.
I'm debating about a 15" or 13". Does the size get in the way of moving around with the laptop at all compared to a smaller device? My main reason for considering both is the difference in portability since I do a lot of moving around.

I pretty much went through the same process to get my machine working. It works great now! I also love the keyboardI had a super weird problem, which I found out was supposed to only hit iMac Pro. I couldn't complete Time Machine backups, Disk Utility giving me repeated warnings, but failing to fix the problems with First Aid or fsck. So I used Carbon Copy Cloner (no problems), reformatted the Macbook drive, and tried clean install. After third install which ended with rebooting into recovery to inform me that "this version of High Sierra cannot be used on this computer, reinstall system" I formatted again, ran Disk Utility (no problems), tried to install High Sierra again, and... recovery partition disappeared.Completely. I ended up booting from CCC, cloning back, and now 1) I have no problems at all anymore, 2) Disk Utility has no problems either, 3) Time Machine works as it should, and... 4) my internal drive is now formatted as HFS+.
Everything else about this machine is amazing. I even found some use for Touch Bar13", 16/512 GB, i5. Oh, and the keyboard is amazing, I liked the 2016 rMB model enough, but this one is huge improvement.

Had an early 2015 13" mbp and now a 15" base model upgraded to 512GB and I'm super happy with it. XCode compiles way faster than before and the overall feeling is supper snappy. Once they fix audio issues everthing will be great
