15” mid model with 1tb. Moderately happy with it but compared to my trash can nMP (which seems broken) it sure is loud if I use cpu at all. I hope Apple comes up with some new or updated desktop model soon.

I'm very happy with my MBP.

The keyboard is ok in terms of feel, I've gotten used to it, even if its not my cup of team. Time will tell about its durability. The performance is outstanding, the display is gorgeous.

I have absolutely no buyers remorse, compare that with the Razer I bought (and returned) and I had a had some level of buyers remorse that was difficult to pin down, but as I contemplated what I was going through, I realized I missed the macOS/Apple ecosystem. Since coming to that conclusion, I've been extremely satisfied with this purchase :)
You don't wish you'd waited until the new macbook air is released? What if they keep the old keyboard....

To coin others in this thread ...

It’s everything I wanted it to be. I’m overjoyed!

Absolutely love the speed and light weight of this machine [i5/16GB/512GB] 13”.

Coming from a former work machine less than 30 days earlier (5th Gen ThinkPad X1 Carbon i7/8GB/512GB also Thunderbolt 3) as well as my former i5/4GB/256GB 2011 MBA ... this actually feels faster than either.

Using safari, iTunes playing music, Mega.nz synching of photos videos and docs over wifi and reorganize my data and banging out loads of documents I’m very impressed. Lasting 12 full hours on a full charge!!

I can honestly say typing is bliss, yet I’m having a bit of a time getting used to the trackpad. Selection of items is fine, but the ‘tap n hold to drag’ seems to not work; somehow some level of light 3D Touch seems to be set by default. I’ve been forcing myself the past week to get used to it though, unsuccessfully.

Been a long while since I’ve been fully Mac and the workflow for simple tasks is already saving me time and increasing efficiency.

That’s multi-touch trackpad though ... the power with MacOS is something to behold!

I was quite skeptical when I bought my 2018 15" MacBook Pro because of the problems, but I'm loving it so far. It's a lot faster than my old 2012 15" rMBP in every single way.
The keyboard when you get used to it, you type faster than on the old one.

The new laptop is colder than the old one too (that's easy, because the old one was 6 years old). Absolutely a great purchase!

It came to my attention that ma u of you purchased the i7 13’’, is it really faster than the standard i5?

For that price you can get 15’’ right?

"So now that the dust has settled..."

The "dust" hasn't settled yet.

Wait about 6 more months, and it will be settling down...
Only on the internet, where dust gets created in the first place. On my 13 TB 256GB, I only had one issue. After the software update my Touch ID stopped working. A support call had me create another user ID and that fixed it. Other than that glitch I’m a happy camper. Now just trying to decide on external storage. Is that dusty enough ;)

i5 16gb 256, best config for the money imo! Loved it but been experiencing an issue where the pc shuts down during sleep. Apart from that, loving it.

Battery feels improved, and I can play CSGO at 150+ fps in low/720p.

After 3 machines from the base 13 to base 15 to 16/512 13", Ive settled on the 2.6/16/512 15". For the money especially with the edu discount and free beats, its the best value imo. The machine has staying power for years to come and hangs in there with the core i9. This will be my last machine for at least 3 years.

I was going to get a 13” but ended up with a 15” 2.6/512/560X instead. Love the speed and capability of the machine, still getting used to the size of the device!

I'm debating about a 15" or 13". Does the size get in the way of moving around with the laptop at all compared to a smaller device? My main reason for considering both is the difference in portability since I do a lot of moving around.

13" 8gb of ram 512 SSD owner here. Upgraded from a 2017 MBP. I love the keyboard, the much improved speakers, and for some reason I feel like my battery life is a bit better. I am probably going to keep this machine for the next two to three years. Loving it.
I have the same model and am coming from a 2016 13 inch and a 2017 15 inch. The keyboard is, in my opinion, much improved. It's not mildly noticeable--it's very clear to me. There does feel like there is more travel and perhaps because these keys seem to give a little bit more "spring," if that makes sense.

Keyboard is significantly better than the 2017 model. That little silicone strip dramatically improves the feel of the rebound at the bottom of each key press.

For me, the 6-core i9 behavior isn’t noticeably different from the 4-core i7. I was expecting radically faster big-program load times (e.g., InDesign, Illustrator) with the new SSD, but other than the keyboard, it doesn’t _feel_ much different from the 2017. It _is_ measurably a few percent quicker for the things I do, but the “speed feel” is not noticeably different for me.

The dominant benefit of the 2018 upgrade for me is absolutely the keyboard.
It's why I kept this machine---the keyboard really is much improved.

I didn't mind the other one, but this is a joy to type on. For real.

I agree 100%. The keyboard may be my favorite one yet.

The difference isnt so significant where it would stop you from being able to lug it around and is definitely not enough to give up the power advantage you get over the 13". I made the switch from a 16/512 13" to a 2.6/16/512 15" and could not be happier with the decision. True desktop replacement in a form factor that is still smaller than every other 15" on the market.

Loving my 13" base model (despite some mysterious, but largely inconsequential WiFi issues). I've been essentially laptop-less for the past 4 years or so thanks to the iPad Pro, and had forgotten how nice it is to have a secondary computer.

The 15'' has a Tech 21 shell on and is in a protective pouch and then I put it in my backpack and it fits, along with a 9.7 iPad Pro in a case too. So with quite alot of extra bulk I can still transport it well. Weight isn't an issue, but then again I started carrying laptops when the iBook G3 was new in 2003 and that was 2.2kg, this is 1.8.

As for the benefits, screen size, it is captivating and I don't feel like I'm looking down into this small screen like I'd started to feel on the 13'' I had, combine that with 4GB AMD dGPU, few extra CPU cores and faster RAM - that extra money has gone somewhere useful.

I had a super weird problem, which I found out was supposed to only hit iMac Pro. I couldn't complete Time Machine backups, Disk Utility giving me repeated warnings, but failing to fix the problems with First Aid or fsck. So I used Carbon Copy Cloner (no problems), reformatted the Macbook drive, and tried clean install. After third install which ended with rebooting into recovery to inform me that "this version of High Sierra cannot be used on this computer, reinstall system" I formatted again, ran Disk Utility (no problems), tried to install High Sierra again, and... recovery partition disappeared. o_O Completely. I ended up booting from CCC, cloning back, and now 1) I have no problems at all anymore, 2) Disk Utility has no problems either, 3) Time Machine works as it should, and... 4) my internal drive is now formatted as HFS+.

Everything else about this machine is amazing. I even found some use for Touch Bar ;) 13", 16/512 GB, i5. Oh, and the keyboard is amazing, I liked the 2016 rMB model enough, but this one is huge improvement.

I pretty much went through the same process to get my machine working. It works great now! I also love the keyboard

Had an early 2015 13" mbp and now a 15" base model upgraded to 512GB and I'm super happy with it. XCode compiles way faster than before and the overall feeling is supper snappy. Once they fix audio issues everthing will be great

The SSD on the 2017 machines was fast too. And the 4-core i7 is enough for most of us. I'd like a 2018 MBP with a 4-core i7 and a cheaper base price.
I have a 2012 rMBP and the "speed feel" is really noticeable, this one is a lot faster (2.6, 512, 16gb)...

Got the 15” / 32gb / 2.6 i7

First laptop I’ve purchased, needed something portable instead of my iMac and so far so good. Some cracking noises in Acrobat when embedding media; not sure whether it’s software related. Loading bar does a strange reveal on bootup also. But this thing is fast and looks great!
