Do you have the 8gb or 16gb version?
just the plain old 8 :) seems just fine, plus if they do come out with a new redesigned 13" in spring of 2020 (and it will not be sooner, I know..) I may just get that then... how about you?

id hold off if you have another laptop you can use for a bit

so glad I dove in on 2016 nTB (First gen) and rode it out...

not getting another Mac laptop until theres some travel on it at minimum , I have to be head over heels in love with the laptop keyboard

the design is great, the keys failed on previous one and not this one yet but I don't like that its a failure design in general and I have flexgate as well
I have never had keyboard failure and literally had every model, and the 2019 keyboard does feel different plus it has a 4 year Warrenty on the keyboard, I honestly don't know what people expect lol... there will be FAR MORE to worry about with a new 16" as we are all aware with first gen devices... the 2019 is the perfect apple laptop, IMO, as they have figured out all the bugs....

I might upgrade to the 16gb right now, since I plan on keeping this 13 inch for about two years. I plan on getting either the iMac or iMac Pro this year (or at the beginning of 2020) year, since I'm moving to a much larger apartment, so it will really come down to the budget.

While you still can, and providing you can afford it, I'd absolutely get the 16 GB.

I can afford it, but since I got this one pretty cheap (1750€) and the cheapest 16gb I can find is 2100€, I'd rather not pay 350€ for an 8gb RAM upgrade. I'd rather just add a little more money and get the 15 inch then.

True but the 15 is not very portable...... at all imo. Not good on the lap either. Even just carying It around the house is not fun. That being said the 15 is a beauty if you can put up w all that. mine also didn’t fit I. coach plus ;(

I have to categorically disagree with this statement, I've been using a 15" laptop since the powerbook days (though I've had periods of time with a 13" laptop) and it is very portable, whether, I'm flying, commuting or driving and tbh, its a heck of lot more lapable (is that a word) then a 13". Maybe the 15" isn't good for you, but that doesn't mean its bad for everyone. One size does not fit all

I personally would return it, especially as we've heard of rumours of a new keyboard design coming out very soon. Furthermore, the MBP is most likely getting a redesign next year as it's the end of the 4 year cycle.

I would usually agree, but he said a "new one is coming out soon" which is not true at all... I think he is more interested in the 13 not the 16? I could be wrong... at that, the 16 would be "announced" in October then released around the holidays, that is if you can a) afford one and b) get one. For the 13, we are talking May/June 2020! that's a long wait! LOL

The 13 inch 16GB should be good, i wouldnt wait especially since u said u don't want 15 or 16 because of the portability and also the 4TB and the 15i run hotter than the 2TB 13 inch so i would stick with that. I wouldn't worry about the keyboard since there is a warranty covering it and value wise depends on if u plan to sell it or not but thats prob not before 2 years a least hard to predict whats happening then!

I would return it.

When the new models with the redesigned keyboards come out, I do not think the resale value of these 2016-2019 models will be very high.
