Yep, I sadly agree with you. I'll most likely be disappointed (as I was with the iPhone 5) in the lack of new hardware features. Health functions just don't do anything for me personally.. I'll never use them.

I keep wondering what people like you want every new iPhones to have and do...
Better CPU, better camera, bigger display, better battery life, new design, probably some new sensors and you are still disappointed? Perhaps you should wake up.

"People like me" have been loyal to the iPhone since the very first day it was on the market. "People like me" would like to use their phone in new, innovative ways, and not just have incremental improvements in cpu, camera, display, and maps (lol), etc "People like me" would like a phone-payment solution, wireless charging, perhaps some waterproof improvements and even better yet.. something that's completely new and innovative.

"People like me" miss the revolution and are tired of slow evolution.

My apologies to "people like you."

My Nexus 4 has wireless charging. It's not all that and a bag of chips. Depending on the charger, you have to find the electrical equivalent of a G spot to get a good connection, and even then it's slower than with a cable.

That's the problem. Because that's not like a new established market works. The smartphone itself was the revolution and innovation. No offense, but keep thinking it will happen all over again for the same (old) smartphone market is the mistake people make.
Wireless charging and waterproofing are some gimmicks which would be nice to have but nothing more and not even close to completely new and innovative (for me I never thought, damn I wish my iPhone is waterproof/can be charged wirelessly). The fingerprint sensor is most likely an innovation because it's so convenient to use.

And maps has nothing to do with hardware nor does a phone-payment solution (iPhone 5s is more than perfect for a phone-payment solution), just saying.

You don't have to apologize. I just want to help people to not get disappointed every year when they see the new iPhone :p

Regardless if there are antenna bands or a nipple cam or not; people will buy it by the millions. Are these gripe sessions therapeutic? If not, what's the point? Why not wait until the 9th and don't get all worked up.

A lot of people thought the glass panels on the back of leaked iPhone 5 pictures was really ugly, but most people now think the iPhone 5/5S looks great.

They couldn't make an iPhone where the back plate is entirely metal if they didn't use antenna bands like this, it just wouldn't be possible. It personally think it looks gorgeous.

I'm honestly not worked up... I just miss the "wow!" factor I've had with Apple for ~30 years.

Apple IIe: WOW!
Macintosh: WOW!
iPhone: WOW!
AppStore: WOW!

Nowadays their big press events are "oh, ok, cool I guess."

Not worked up.. just hoping for some more revolution at some point. :)

The release dates for those products were, 1983, 1984, 2007, 2008. As you can see there's a bit of a gap in there. It's totally normal for Apple to not release never thought of/revolutionary/wow products every year. The iPod, iTunes and iPad I count was revolutionary products as well, but still big gaps are normal.

So The iPhone 6 Antenna Bands Are Staying?

If two lines on the back of your phone send you into a snit, makes you feel the need to run to the internet to cry in multiple posts over those damn lines, you just might have to reevaluate your life.

Two lines that might be on the back of the next iPhone aren't "crucial" they're a product of function.

i wonder if one would be able to talk and surf the web on verizon network on the iphone 6 (currently the iphone doesnt allow it while most of the android phone do)

Only if there's an extra radio put in to support that, or if VoLTE is in play.

Yes I understand a phone is not a fashion statement HOWEVER

Design is a crucial factor, in fact a very high percentage of apple's business is led by design.

While it may not be important to you, design is very important to me. I have an eye that appreciates neat and clean designs, maybe because I am studying mathematics, I have seen beauty in things which are neat.

My car for example, in some ways is similar to every other car, it has for wheels and can get me from this point to that point. But a part of me choosing my car (if you really want to know its a BMW) was due to design combined with its performance.

Similar to iphone, of course its so I can message my friends, check facebook insta and snapchat etc, but I also want a phone that looks good, clean.

Design is also a feature, I mean there will be new features in the iphone 6, but im sure you can still run your company with an iphone 5, its not like you cant survive without an iphone 6.

Design is very important.

You should throw some antenna bands onto the hood and trunk of your BMW to make everything match. Here's a video of the backplate compared to some mockups: http://youtu.be/4DqE3CcfqkQ

I take it your life revolves around your phone, meaning you cant function without it. Its not a problem I actually find it amusing but hopefully the iPhone 6 fills that big hole in your life with something innovating. Ihope one day my phone goes to work for me when Im feeling blue, now thats innovation :) BTW the smart phone market is saturated its not going to happen for some time now.

I'll be disappointed if the antenna breaks are there. I normally enjoy staring at the back of my phone for hours at a time.

Yes I will get iphone 6 because I rely a lot on iOS, but apple has always been about clean simplistic design, these antenna bands are horrible

crappy reception due to a full metal body is even more horrible.

The bands are a necessary evil unless Apple wants to switch to a full glass or plastic body

Mobile phones are, and will continue to be, fashion statements.

You can disagree all you want to defend your desire to not be viewed as vain or superficial, but there's a reason why people went crazy over the 5S in gold (just as an example).

Ask a teenager if they'd rather have an iPhone or another phone that "does the same stuff". The iPhone would win 99% of the time, even if the other phone would meet needs better (longer battery life, just as an example). It's a status symbol AND a fashion statement, like it or not. People WANT them.

Next you'll tell me sunglasses aren't a fashion statement either, or cars, or clothes.... LOL.

It's OK for things to be fashion statements. It doesn't make you less of a person because you like something because of the way it looks. If that's the ONLY reason you like it that's another story, but in itself, it's not a horrible thing.

To some people, perhaps. To many others, no. That applies pretty much to all the things that were mentioned.

In your opinion. I, and many others, prefer the 5/5s design to the 4s. To each their own. Either way, this new phone will be just as big of a hit as every other iPhone.

Also, no point comparing it to the iPod touch as the touch doesn't have antennas.

Um, yes it does. It may not have mobile/GPS, but it still has Bluetooth and Wi-Fi.

The antenna for the iPod touch is behind the small piece of black plastic on the back.

Actually, my younger cousin is in highschool and Android phones are very popular in that age group.

I stand corrected, it does, but not like the iPhone must have for cellular and GPS capabilities.

I don't mind, the entire phone is rather ugly anyway. I'll cover it with a case. As long as it has better quality than my 5S and functions properly that'll be good enough. No one, not even Apple can build such massive qualities as fast as their Chinese mfg does and assure the highest quality, so I've lowered my expectations. These days good enough is about it.

I guess I don't cringe as much when I look at those lines as I did before, but I still am not a huge fan. I am pretty much expecting those lines to be in the final release, and am hoping that they just look better in person (They most likely will). I know I use a case anyway and that will cover the lines, but every once and awhile when I clean the device, I like to admire that I have an amazing looking phone, where at this point it feels it will be more so-so. I probably will fall in love with the design when I first see it with my own eyes anyway so yeah. I'm trying to cool down and not get myself worked up by it anymore. I guess if they do indeed replace the lines with glass, it will just be an added treat! I really don't think it's happening now though. We would most likely see physical leaks by now probably. (I still am a little skeptical because I thought the first 3D printed, fan made, mockups months and months ago, too early for there to be actual leaks in my opinion, had the lines and everything we see now)
