Said the person who is about to purchase an iPhone 6 with massively outdated specs compared to the competition ;-)
If the i6 really does only have 1GB of RAM then it isn't all that much better than the i5 and certainly not the 5S.

Specs mean nothing to me. User experience is all I care about. If another phone has 4GB of RAM, does it make it 4x faster than my iPhone 5? Definitely not.

Not necessarily faster but more RAM is absolutely desirable to keep frustration at bay. I experience symptoms of low RAM on my i5 every single day, so shelling out for another iPhone with only 1GB of RAM just isn't going to happen. The i6 RAM situation hasn't been clarified yet but some online sites suggest it will have 1GB. I hope they're wrong because that would be pathetic in late 2014 and especially at Apple's prices.

My first thought was, "oh, good! I can upgrade my 4S to a 5S without wondering if I'll suffer buyers remorse over the 6"

A mainstream characteristic of Apple and their customers is world class hypocrisy.

It'll be interesting to see how many protest the iPhone 6 now that's it's a reality.

Even Apples great fear of a larger display caused them to procrastinate for well over two years.

Not to say you're lying, but I think you're maybe being a little critical for the effect of NOT feeling like you're missing out. I mean sure, maybe all of those things are legitimate gripes for you, but how much did you WANT to hear about the new iPhone and be unimpressed? I'm guessing a pretty fair amount... which is understandable.

Not me. I was really hoping that there wouldn't be some super amazing must have feature and thankfully, there wasn't. Once the price actually drops on the 5s I'll happily upgrade to that and be content for ages.

Same thing crossed the minds of those with 4S phones when the 5 was announced. Then down the line they upgraded to a 5S or will be upgrading to 6. So...what else is new?

I felt the same way about the 5, 5C and 5S. Now I feel like there is more then a worthy feature set to upgrade from my 4S. And I'll likely hold onto the 6 until the 7S or 8 unless something comes out that would actually benefit me.
