When comparing it to my 8gb 3g this morning (which I sold for $250 an hour ago), it looked kinda of yellow. I turned off the auto brightness and now it looks beautiful! Halle Berry has never looked finer!:D

Do all of you remember the white dot issue on the 1st gen??? That was fixed with a firmware update, and from what I read the issue with the 3gs was also fixed with an update. So what are the odds that Apple will cool the color temp this time with an update???

(just wanted to add that I compared my screen to my wife's 16 GB white 3GS and noticed identical color temp, so I don't think its just bad batch. I also compared ours to our 1st Gens, and of course I see a much warmer color temp. Now the question I have to ask myself is if I didnt have anything to compare my 3GS to, would I even notice the difference. (because I didn't until I compared it to my 1st Gen, and a 3G that was on display in Best Buy.)

I contend that that firmware update last year made zero change to the tint issue.

I was hoping an app would've come out at that time to allow tweaking but I guess no one cared or Apple didn't allow such tampering in the guts. They really need to allow something vs. the zillions of dollars they eat each year due to this.

Still afraid to open my 3G S box.

Uneven color

Hi everyone. First post and first iPhone. I got a 32g 3Gs and I think I have the tint problem. I didn't notice it at first but when I installed the Kindle app and tried to read some books, the screen is nice and white at the top and start to turn a bit yellow about 1/2 - 3/4 of the way down. I bought the Apple Care so maybe I'll just see if they can replace it.

One thing that I've noticed that is different on the 3GS compared to my 1G iPod Touch is that when i wear my polarized sun glasses and have the phone at a tilt, I get an almost 3D look to the screen.

At least I notice a little more of a prism effect...

My wife and I both have 16gb 3GS phones, but her screen looks bluer than mine and my screen looks warmer/yellower.

mines perfect

I simply love it and stays nice and clean I have tried screen protectors and just end up pulling them off. any other 3gs owners going though the same on that. BTW there are always a few problems rolling out a brand new unit in suck numbers. Only a small percentage have experienced this.

Some people with yellow tints definitely have bad phones. Take mine for example:

That's not right.
My 32GB 3G S looks like the photo of your 3G on the right... not at all like the 'warmer' screen on the left. In fact, I'd say my screen is whiter than the 3G's in your photo that has hints of red.
