UPS lost my phone as well. Now waiting for Apple to cancel the "shipped" phone from my account so I can try in-store or with AT&T. There has to be a better process for replacement phones instead of telling the customer to wait a month even though the shipper lost the phone.
Good luck. My wife has been on the phone on and off all morning trying to get the phones canceled and the contracts backed out. Meanwhile I’ve already got a bill with Verizon for the phones which of course apple said wouldn’t happen. Pretty disappointed with apple customer service at this point. Won’t order anything direct from. Apple again. What timeline is this where Verizon is the lesser of two evils? ha ha.

EXACTLY. My new phone also shows up on my AT&T bill, but I am so drained from talking to UPS and Apple for 5 days now that I'll tackle that last. There really has to be a better way. Can't even believe that I'm even thinking of ordering with AT&T as their ship dates show Oct-12-19 and many people have been moving up, but at this point Apple has seriously dropped the ball.

Yea I’m baffled by how much of a mess it is. Either apple has lied to us multiple times or even their managers are poorly informed. Either way it’s not good. She’s been talking to their executive whatever since this am and getting the same nonsense.

Well please let me know what she finally gets worked out.

Right now it shows I owe them two phones that I never got by October 14. So progress is not exactly what I would call it, showed I owed them one phone I never got this morning. Now they want the lost phone and the cancelled replacement phone back ha ha, wow

If you look through Twitter, there are plenty of other instances of UPS "losing" new iPhones. I wonder if employees just slipped the tiny boxes into their pockets, even easier with the tearaway tab. I might feel differently if UPS itself was any help at all-- telling me to just keep checking the tracking when it's almost been a week is hilarious. Do they actually think it will magically reappear? I'm usually pretty patient, and understand they have a huge problem with the driver shortage, but if you can't even tell me where the package is, that's just bad service. What makes it even worse is UPS literally delivered my trade in kit a few days ago. Never had this problem with the delivery of my iPhone X, though I forget if that was UPS or FedEx.

Well here’s what happened to me. Friday out for delivery. I wait around, have cameras on my house. No truck. About 12:30 pm it says “the receiver was not available, we’ll make second delivery attempt”. Saturday I see in my choice out for delivery, meet the driver at the curb he says it’s not on the truck. Monday same thing out for delivery, talk to the driver, says it’s not on the truck. Call
Ups and they send a message to the depot. Almost immediately get call from the depot and they say they found my phones and don’t know why they weren’t loaded but they’ll be out tomorrow. As soon as I get off the phone all of the out for delivery tracks were deleted, just says the package has been rescheduled for a future date. Tuesday rolls around and all I get is the trade in boxes. Last scan was on the 27th “processing at ups facility”. Anyhow I’m pretty sure the local depot is in on it.

Yikes. I'm sorry you're dealing with a similar situation. See, I don't want to believe someone stole them, but I was reading a bit about UPS and their inability to hire and/or keep drivers. They have even tried to eliminate barriers like less required training.

So maybe they're just inept, boxes lost or never loaded for delivery. Or maybe the iPhone boxes are easily identifiable and stolen. After my release date delivery phone was never delivered, it just showed the "Check back tomorrow for an updated delivery date." Still says that, though the latest update says the replacement cleared customs in China.

Pretty certain they delivered it to the wrong address. Was at home all day and never had the UPS truck drive up. Anyone have any experience with UPS and lost packages? Am I just out $1400?
How don’t they required to be signed ?
But just like ups and Amazon stole ps5 they will do the same with new iPhones

Yikes. Sorry to hear that. This is one reason why I always request a hold for pick up at UPS CC rather than having it delivered to my house.

Any time UPS has a phone or something expensive for me I always have them hold at their one of their centers or a store. I'll pick it up after work. No way I trust them not to screw up and lose something that expensive.

Agreed. Another idea is have it shipped to your work, I did this a few times in the past when shipped w/ UPS.

On a positive note, I was just able to get my Sierra Blue pro max for courier delivery tomorrow. So store stock is still popping up.
That’s awesome, still haven’t got the upgrade back from Verizon and apple, charged me $200 on friday tommy card for cancelling the trade in. Not sure I’m making any progress at this point.

I have instructions with UPS to do deliveries at the back door and there are lots of places to hide things there. They put the iPhone inside the storm door. We were away for a week and it was inside the door when we returned. I'm unaware of any mail theft or porch pirates in our housing development and we've been here for 35 years. But it could happen to anyone these days.

Were you able to get your phones sorted out?
Mostly. I’ve got my upgrade credits back and the refund for the taxes. I’m still waiting on the $200 from one of the trade in credit cancellations. Hoping to see that by tomorrow.

What a mess. But I’m glad it’s getting sorted out…kinda. I get that phones/ items get lost in shopping all the time but Apple has to do a better job of allocating some stock for this situation so customers aren’t told that they have to wait a month or more for a replacement. The cancellation process is atrocious and and a speedy replacement would be so much better and save customers so much trouble.

I agree however I didn’t mind waiting until November. My issue was according to them they couldn’t extend my trade in since my trade in boxes had already arrived. So my option was send the phones in and be without phones for 2 weeks. i Called twice and got similar answers, we can’t extend the trade in window. The manager I eventually talked to said I could have called in every two weeks and had a new trade in box sent but when I asked if Verizon would also extend the trade he said I’d have to call them. Yea hard pass. I would have to do that twice to get to November when the phones actually arrived.

Got all my money back. The manager dude at apple said he would be able to get phones out to me sooner if I ordered and then called him with the order numbers, but I am just going to wait for inventory to show up at local stores and do a pickup. Don’t feel like rolling the dice in ups again.

Glad things are working out for you. Inventory can be hard to find right now, but if you constantly search you will be able to find something. I was able to secure an in-person pickup for a 1TB 13 PM earlier today.
