It will be a silent update when Mountain Lion ships. iMacs no longer get their own keynotes in this iOS world.

Can you find the last iMac keynote for me? It's never been at WWDC. Some old MacWorlds maybe?

... I don't need a laptop computer that I'm just going to have sitting on my desk as a heating pad hooked to 2 external displays (if it can even do that without exploding).

That... was funny.

And from my personal, repair laden experience: it cannot.

Revenue Smoothing at Work

There may actually be several technical challenges that led to no new iMac today, but I would think it was primarily a business decision. Appl had to upgrade the MBAs and MBs, because that is the hot market area and Ultrbooks could pose some threat. Today's MB announcements will lead to 18 frantic days of laptop revenue in THIS quarter. By holding iMacs for Mountain Lion release in July, Appl will harvest pent up revenue NEXT quarter from us loyalists who, let's face it, are not really going to go out and buy a PC tower.

My guess is the switch to Nvidia this round is holding it up, and that they'll use the 680m released sometime in July if I recall...

680?they will use a crap one..680 is 500 bucks..they will go for half..
but if they use Nvidia prepare you to see a 650-670..not more,,,and not...:(the amd7970...Cook want to earn the more with the less...
Apple..is not a computer company,,is a fashion mass market gadget company..:mad:Thanks Cook,Thanks Forstall!
