Absolutely agreeing with you. People who want to game should either buy a desktop computer or a gaming console. If it really has to be mobile gaming, they should by an Alienware laptop.
I'd like to have an i5 MBP without any dedicated graphics card, saves both - money and battery power.

A graphics card does far FAR more than just game. It is used in many coding/video and photography applications.

Photography: only with some applications yet

The average user will most likely need a dedicated graphics card for gaming only.

As far as audio applications don't support CUDA or the like I have no real need for a dedicated graphics card.
