I expect that the lower level unibody will just match the whitebook's processor at 2.13, add some extra HD space and maybe a battery update.

The 2.4 could change to a 2.53 possibly some additional HD space (prob not) and a battery update.

10%... 88%... I don't think it matters.

MacBook Pros once. But again, there is NOTHING to which they can update!

Past trends are MEANINGLESS when no hardware EXISTS.

1. New battery
2. Increased stock ram
3. Slightly faster processor
4. Matte screen option
5. Updated graphics
6. Firewire

All of those things are at least possible.

I told myself that just to find out how wrong I am every WWDC waiting for hardware updates. Exception was MBP for the Intel switch, thats about it.

I would totally agree XD

Does anyone think that hard drives will increase in macbook and pro ? like they have done in whitebook ?

I am wondering when the price of the SSD is going to drop. I know the 128 came down in price when the 256 came out. Any idea when the next price drop/upgrade is due?

I think people expect too much to all happen at one WWDC. Usually Apple spreads the announcements apart over time.

Making all unibodies into MBPs would be a large announcement, and would probably require an event to publicize. Whether or not they'd do this at WWDC is another thing all together. However, that is the only thing that would be big enough for Phil (or Steve) to announce. Otherwise, it'll be a quiet update that's just posted on Apple.com.

Don't forget the BTO 500GB option, and maybe larger stock HDDs.
But yeah, there are plenty of things to update.

Why does everyone think that WWDC is an event where new consumer products are announced? It's a "developers conference", not CES.

The conference is for developers, yes. With the sessions and things like that. But anything could be announced. The iPhone has played a large part of WWDC for the last two years. Now correct me if I'm wrong, but the iPhone is hardware. And everyone expects a new one of those.

Now I'm not saying for a second MacBook upgrades WILL happen, but why write off the chance of it happening. Any updates wouldn't even need to be announced. Nothing was done for the whitebook update. What is wrong with a little hope that there may well be a slight bump to the unibody macbooks in the coming weeks?

There is nothing really to upgrade to, certainly nothing (except the new screen) worth while that early adopters would jump at upgrading

I really don't think everytime Apple makes an update they think 'hmmm how can we get someone who just bought a xyz 6 months ago to buy the new model', computers usually last at least a few years for people.

The update would be to make the Macbook more enticing to new users and anyone else in the market for a new computer. Not just to make the fanboys cream their panties.

unibody might get speed bumps. 2.0 to 2.13 and 2.4 to 2.53. Not sure about anything else.

That I hope. And 7200rpm Hard Drives ... 160gb is ok for me as I keep everything on an external so I don't have to copy the same crap on all my computers...

If no upgrade at all, I think I might buy my macbook at the end of summer, which would suck...

So I'm hoping a small update for now, as anything bigger on macbook would be useless.

Ummm... We are talking about Apple here. Pretty soon we will see a new iPhone every month.
I just don't understand why it's so hard for some of you to believe that they could do a little bump in the specs? Didn't they just do it to the White MacBook? I just find it hard to believe from a marketing point of veiw that they would have the white MB appear to have better specs then the alu MB 2.0 (even though it doesn't).

I don't personally believe there will be any updates. The current macbooks sell enough like hotcakes and they don't need any changes, yet.

I'd go as far as saying that Apple would finish off the White MBs and replace them with uMBs for their entry line of notebook. But I know my idea will fail :D...
Seriously though, I'd love a RAM bump from 2 to 4GB of standard ram.

Then the biggest thing apple could do is drop its disgusting prices

oh by the way I spent 1150 uk on an october glassbook before you start defending apple.

You took my quote out of context, as I was talking to the person I quoted who said their was nothing worth updating to make early adopters want to upgrade, to which I responded they don't target early adopters as they will keep their laptops for a few years, they will make a small speed bump to sell to people who's computers are already a few years old.

I guess apple is the only company makes so many people care their next hardware upgrade. Even just 0.13G higher CPU makes lots people happy.

I bought several laptop before like hp, asus, ibm . After purchase , I totally forget the company news, just use the computer until my next upgrade. Now I have to worry about apple's every move. And I am afraid I will never choose other brand anymore even they are half price as apple with same config.
