I rolled $8.50 of pennies.

FUN.

it's what every 18-year old girl dreams of doing on a saturday night.

...*sigh*

(Surprisingly) I'll be studying for my math provincial on Monday.

Oh well, I'm almost too tired to go out tonight anyways.

I am scrubbing my walls and listening to bluegrass.

Bluegrass is suprisingly good scrubbing music.

I'm watching Star Trek: The Motion Picture while going through the backlog of New Scientist magazines that were delivered to my flat whilst I was away. Could I be more of a geek?!!!

Haha, unfortunately I'm using Windows... my mac's in the other room and hasn't been unpacked yet. My Dell's screen flickers off half the time you use the keyboard so I have to type without seeing what I'm writing most of the time and the power chord is permenantly taped on at an angle with electrical tape because the socket's dodgy.

Although another geek thing is that I got my model of the Enterprise down off the shelf to have near me as I watch the film. Hahaha!!!

I have to study all this week for a math placement exam  The good: it only goes through pre-calc. The bad: I haven't taken pre-calc for a year and I have to brush up some since I don't think calculus is much related :p

Me? Raping MySpace :D I got nothing else better to do. I'd probably go out if I knew some people down here. :(

I took AUD$220 to the bank on Friday in $2, $1, 50c, 20c and 10c coins (mostly the last three types, didn't take any 5c coins in and I'm so glad we got rid of 1c and 2c coins back in the 80s) all separated into the little plastic bags. My backpack must've weighed about 3kg. Should've seen the teller's eyes when I started to pull the bags out. They have to take coins if they're in the little bags so I just kept pulling them out and he had to keep putting them on the weighing machine to make sure I had counted correctly.

I remember having to roll so much change working in Canada, I love the little bags here - much, much easier.

Alrighty then, time to unpack the groceries.

Man.. I wish the US would round to the nearest 5c. It would be soo much easier! Stupid not cool banking system..

Rolling change-- not good. it gets stuck vertically, and just.. not good.

I would have LOVED to see that!! :D

What?!?! Baggies, no way!

I just deposited just over a hundred bucks in change the other day. It took me OVER A WEEK to roll it all. Why the hell don't the banks here start doing it like yours. You have no idea how jealous I am right now.

This is assuming I understood you correctly and all you do is throw your coins into a plastic bag and they weigh it to determine the amount.

It's just a little plastic zip-loc bag. You have to have the right amount, as follows:

$50 in $2 coins OR
$20 in $1 coins OR
$10 in 50c/20c/10c (single denomination, no mixing)
$2 in 5c coins.

So you still have to count but you don't have to do all that rolling work. The weighing machine just makes sure the right amount is in each bag. Coins come in rolls when you need change but that's all done by machine at the bank.

And yeah, the day we got rid of the 1c and 2c coins was one of the best days for wallets in Australian history, no more busting coin pouches. Problem is our coins are gigantic, the 50c is particularly enormous and it's a problem because we actually use 50c coins.

went to a party at a friends house and played halo 2 for 5 hours, then to the arcade for another hour or so.
however
i got owned at halo by this kid who must be 10 or something....everyone did. it was sad.
now i'm home pissed off at blizzard because aerie peak (the american one--my server) is down. i swear, the private server i played on for awhile was up more often than aerie peak.

oh gosh, last night i watched my mac encode videos for my new 5G. then i screwed around in terminal. right, then i worked on a B&W G3 that i've been tinkering with lately. and i started making iPod apps in flash. all in all, a good geeky night:D

What I was going to do: Play Ghost Recon.

What I actually ended up doing: Playing online Scrabble against KT (my record: 1 huge victory, 1 close loss) and then going down to the local bar to meet some friends of mine and get drunk. Now I am about to collapse into bed.
