Which size MBA did you get/want to get.

Went with 11"/128GB/8GB, moving down from a 15" high res MBP. Lets see how it goes when I get the Air next week :)

I am contemplating selling my hi-res 15" mbp for an 11" mba too.

Can you let me know how you get on please? Mainly with regard to the text size and whether text is similarly sized.

I also intend on purchasing a thunderbolt display to pair with the mba once the thunderbolt display changes to USB3 and magsafe 2 (I assume it is still currently USB2 with the original magsafe connector?).

I'd expect more 13" than last year

I'd guess that the purchases will be skewed towards the 13" model. Many potential 15" Macbook Pro buyers will be stepping down to the 13" MBA rather than up to the Retina machine, given the uncertain future of the regular 15 incher.

I have a 13-inch high end with RAM upgrade coming my way. I went with the 13-inch because of the better battery life.

13 in for me. My brother has the 11 in and found it too small to work on. He primarily uses for Facebook and web surfing while watching tv. I will use mine for actual work. And I am old so I need the bigger screen. Coming down from a Lenovo brick will be nice progress for me. Extra battery life is a consideration too.

Sure! I haven't received the air yet but the gui and text should be a tiny bit smaller on the air. The difference should be very small because the 11" Air is 135 PPI vs 128 PPI on the 15" Pro high res. Almost the same!

What concerns me more is the 11" screen wish won't fit much content :p But I have a cinema display wish I plan to hook up while watching movies or tv. ACD and TBD are still on magesafe v1 (and USB2.0, I guess).

I got my 2012 11" last week. When I first started using it, the screen didn't seem any smaller than my previous 13" MacBook. However, after having the Air for a few days, I went back to my old MacBook to get some files to move to the new Air and I was like, when did this computer get so big and how come all the icons are so large, also why is it suddenly so slow? Haha, all relative of course and proving that ignorance is bliss and you really can't go back.

Yep!

Both my wife and I had 2011 13" MBPs, but I sold mine to also upgrade to an 11" MBA last week.

After updating some apps and backing up her machine last night, the extra seconds it took to do anything killed me.

I will never again be able to use a computer without an SSD drive.

Still waiting for my 11" 2.0/8/512 ... The status switched from "preparing for shipment" back to "processing item" again :(

Still waiting for my 11/i7/8/512. Upgrading from late 2010 11" ultimate.

Ultimate too I see :D
Can't wait to get my hands on mine!

Got 13 due to longer battery life, Card reader and because I can do some software programming on it without an external monitor (unlike the 11);

Great product!

In retrospect I could get by with an 11'', but only because I have a Thunderbolt display at home. The killer for me is the battery life....thats the only thing that would still push me to a 13"

11". Been wanting this for years. Timing was perfect, the specs matched my needs, and I sold my 13" MBP to pay for the upgrade. I love it so far. This might end up being my last computer. I get too much work done on the iPad nowadays, and I think I might end up moving over to that completely after a few more iterations.

Started out dead set on the 13". After spending time on this forum and thinking about what I'd really be using the MBA for ( ms word, email, web surfing ) went for the 11". Took ages to decide btw screen size. I think we are now part of the iPad generation...we really do care about form and function...so for me the 11" MBA came out a winner. Bto spec is i5/8/128.

Awaiting delivery......

Size is such a personal preference, I'd ignore the reports here. The best approach in my opinion would be to go to an Apple store or Best Buy so you can see for yourself.

Unable to decide, I bought both. Mainly because I tend to travel a lot and the 11" is a nice fit on a tray table when flying internationally. Only in close quarters like that do I notice a difference, since the 13" is only one inch wider and a bit deeper.

The 13" is more well balanced for using it on uneven or soft surfaces. It's far easier to use than the 11". Between being so small and light, it can be a little unstable and annoying. That's not to say there's anything wrong with that size, it's just my experience.

If I were to keep just one, it would be the 13" hands down. No hesitation.

Wirelessly posted

have 2010 11" and love it. but getting a 2012 13" for more battery and screen size -

and for it to feel more like an upgrade. otherwise for my uses, not a huge jump 2010 to 2012.

was thinking about the rmbp but decided on a fully suped macbook air, specs are i7/8gb/512 (to replace my 2011 Macbook air)

I used a dell mini 10v for too long to switch to an 11". The extra res has made navigating photoshop, and even general use much better.

I was at my local Apple store today and surprised to overhear multiple sales people discouraging customers from buying the 11". They said it was too close in size to the iPad. They encouraged getting a 13" & iPad.

I have an iPad3 & still love my 11" MBA.
