No, but not because it's a waste of money. Because I didn't use the dock with my original iPhone, I didn't even think about it. :)

I'm going to buy it b/c I HATE the current USB connection piece.

I don't understand why it doesn't have the same 2 little side buttons like my 3rd Gen ipod dock does. I find it really difficult to remove and am always fearful of breaking something on it.

maybe they did that on purpose to scare the fearful like me into buying the dock? :)

I broke down and bought it. I couldnt live with out it. Since my wife has an iphone now at least it gets used alot. I just like the way it looks standing on the dock.

Bought it.

I also use a universal dock, though I didn't get the tailor made iP3G adapter... I found an old iPod adapter for, uh, whatever generation of the Classic, and it had just the right dimensions to provide sufficient back support for the iPhone, even though it doesn't wrap nicely around the sides of the curved back.

Apparently the iPhone 3G is supposed to complain when you put it in a universal dock, but mine doesn't.

So now I have a universal dock, a Shuffle dock, a Nano 1G dock and an iPhone 3G dock on my desk. They look weird together, like some tiny chalk white Addams Family.

Oh, and the iPod Touch 1G almost fits in the iPhone 3G dock, it'll go far down enough for the connector to go in the hole, but it doesn't go all the way down...

I managed to get that, a car charger, a case and an extra USB cord free for being the first in line at our local Roger's Carrier Store. :)

I bought one, and just got it in today. I hated leaving my iPhone just laying on my desk. It looks much better sitting in the dock.

Bought one used on eBay for $20. I really wouldn't mind paying the $29 if it came with a cable.

Really? I can't stand the older (and third party) connectors now - the new one rocks. You can just kind of yank it out if you have to - very cool. One handed disconnects. ;)

Anyway, I've got an old universal dock but no 3G adapter - it's really annoying that I have to click that stupid pop-up on the phone every time I plug in. I'm tempted to buy a new dock just to stop getting that stupid message. But $30 seems a bit steep to me.

I wanted it but it was over 50 bucks. Too much for the phone to just stand up IMO. That little thing to plug in the wall and charge it that came with 3g is 30. That is outrageous.

I absolutely agree. It's highway robbery.

i got one. i got used to having one with my 1st gen. not sure it is worth $30, but i paid it without thinking too much about it. i feel like it's safer in the dock, i like that you can connect a line out to your stereo.

I Have a Universal Dock and I sanded down the back of one of the fittings so the 3G's curved back would fit. Worked Perfectly :D.

Not sure I'd categorize my purchase as a "hell, yeah!" but I did buy one. Two actually - one for home and one for the office. However, I'll probably end up not using them too often because at present I use a PowerSupport AirJacket case on my phone (which of course doesn't fit the dock).

I got it because i have a charger shelf for all my iPods at home, and the phone looks very nice standing in it :D

Got 25% off too since i bought it with the phone and threatened to buy the dock somewhere else because of the price
