I'd read the same but I can't find anyone else having the same problem so I'm not sure how widespread this bug is. If it's not a major issue then they may not be in a rush to fix it.

My ATV arrived yesterday and Boxee/XBMC installed without any issues. Unfortunately this is where it all went wrong and I am unable to connect to my Mac from within Boxee. SMB share is active but not seen by Boxee and entering a direct IP address the the share does not work either. Currently puzzled over why it will not work.

ATV's own software communicates with my Mac without issue.

I can ssh from my Mac just fine, and I can see smb shares from the atv. However when I try to play any video_ts files from the shares I get the error "Failed to retrieve data". The same thing works fine using xbmc, but not boxee.

Nevermind, I finally got it (dated 11:03 last night, when I registered more than 24hrs before then).

they follow the threads and see that this is a problem ...there are a few people with the same issues...

Is it possible to access the ATV hdd from a Mac and copy my media directly onto it?
