If Apple removes the 3.5 I will leave Apple, because they would be removing something I use everyday and I would have to take my business to Android like a lot of Apple fans are talking about doing too. The rumors for this iPhone are not impressive and the the competition is way ahead already. Apple can't afford to wait for 2017 for the big upgrade.
Yeah maybe android has already taken over the business, with the launch of Galaxy Note 7 Samsung archives a another big milestone in the smartphone territory, the sales of the galaxy s7 are strong enough to shake the apple, and the upcoming iPhone 7 which looks more like a current iPhone 6 will not interest much iPhone users (surely lack of innovation)

I think the Note 7 would be the perfect phone if it had a removable battery for the people who want it, having the option wouldn't be a bad thing.

Imo Samsung made a little mistake to use the same Exynos 8890 / Snapdragon 820 processor which is already 6 months old and used in the Galaxy S7/S7 Edge. There used to be a time where the Note series had the best and latest processors, something to look forward to. Too bad it's not like that anymore. Also only offering an edge variant of the Note is also a bad thing in my opinion, as I prefer flat displays.

The Note 7 will not be able to compete with the 6s/6s Plus, performance wise. You can see the video below where the S7 (with the same processor as the Note 7) gets owned by the 6s, there are more examples on YouTube where the 6s comes out in front in speed tests again and again. Considering the iPhone 7/ 7 Plus is coming out next month with the A10 processor, it will crush the Note 7 even more. So, to call the Note 7 a big milestone in smartphone territory would be a little exaggerated.

Well ok then!! But you see that doesn't effects your phone in day to day experience But what about design, the look, the feel in hand, do you think iPhone 7 will crush note 7 in this area???

It's still two months to go until the iPhone 7 will be officially available in the stores and there is still enough time for us to make the decision,as per the leaks the iPhone 7 is going to look so similar like iPhone 6s,My current iPhone 6s Plus works flawless ,and there is nothing interesting me in iPhone 7 to make the decision now i am just wondering how many of iPhone 6s or iPhone 6s Plus users here are going to upgrade to iPhone 7 and the reason for the upgrade :)

I've upgraded every year on the day of launch. I'll be doing the same this year.

The outside of the phone looking very similar to my 6S Plus has exactly zero influence on my decision. While the looks of the phone have always been something to appreciate, I don't purchase it just because it looks different than last year's model. The iPhone is a sleek looking piece of equipment regardless and, frankly, that's a silly reason to buy/not buy a phone.

I upgrade because I virtually live on it. I do so much with my phone from personal communications, work comms, email, scheduling/calendar stuff, financials, take tons of photos/videos, the list goes on and on and on. Every improvement to the device is one I enjoy, whether it be faster CPU, faster GPU, more onboard RAM, more storage, better camera (sensors, light sensitivity, slow-mo, time-lapse, etc, etc).

I upgrade because this device is such a huge part of my day-to-day life, that any improvement on it is felt in so many areas, and that's worth the few bucks premium I pay.

I think speed wise there won't be much of a gap from the iPhone 7 to note 7. iPhone likely will be faster but the 820 is still a beast speed wise.

If Apple decisions to upgrade the screen resolution to 1080p or better on the SE or 4.7" size iPhones, I may upgrade since I watch a lot of music videos and streaming content on my S6 and love it at 577ppi!

Your green subpixels are the only ones that are 577ppi.

I think all phones lag in some way shape or form. My s6 edge lagged but my s7 edge is flawless

Alot of it depends how somebody uses their phone
Honestly, my iPhone 6s Plus has never lagged.

On a side note, the Note 7 features HDR video. That's a game changer when it comes to displays....

Picked up the SE today and couldn't be happier! I forgot how much I loved the size and the design of this phone! I'm coming from the 6S so I know I'm losing force touch but that's not a deal breaker. I also know going from a 4.7 to 4 inch phone shouldn't be a big deal but it's noticeable to me. I think this phone is going to last me a good long while . So I'll be sticking with the SE!

I (and every other "techie" in Canada) keeps praying that Apple will expand their iPhone upgrade program to Canada.
Most of us have already negotiated plans that are contract free and owe nothing to these evil, soul-sucking carriers and would prefer an option to paying full pop for a new device. (Case in point, my iPhone 6s cost me about $1400 (64GB) ) - to which most Yank's would say WTF?! - yes, we're getting screwed on our exchange at the moment (my Apple Watch was $1600, but that's another story).
Unless Apple finally brings in this program, I'm skipping a year. Maybe 2017 will FINALLY be the resurgence of the BLACK iPhone!!! This pastel space grey **** just gives me grief. I'm sorry. You guys have let Jony and the design team have far too much free reign. Believe it or not, there are people that don't want soft, pastel colours!!! :)

No home-phobia implied (my cousin and various friends are gay). It doesn't mean I want them decorating my apartment. :)

I have always purchased a new phone every two years on launch day. Currently have a 6 and will take a wait and see position. My phone is 2 years old and I do want to upgrade, but I need t see this new iPhone.

Depends if Apple has new colors like medium blue metallic or the dull black and how much better it is to the current 6S! Apple should uprade the 4.7" to 1080p since some $250 Android phones have that the 1080p resolution now and iPhones are $650-$900 devices with only 720i screen resolution. I know will cost Apple $4-$5 dollars more to upgrade the screen and GPU but will help drive up sales. Apple cannot have it both ways! 2011 screen resolution is not good enough for 2016! I know it will take away some sales from the plus version if the 4.7" is upgraded but the 5.5" still has the better battery and camera and RAM!

I will be upgrading from my 6s plus

It is all contingent on the following
1. the dual camera is worth it
2. Water proof
3. Space Black

Really fine with my 6S. There's really nothing about it that bothers me and it still performs incredibly well. I'll be skipping the 7. I'm also not ready to give up my headphone jack yet.

6s user. Might upgrade. Main reason is that the phone is my main device. But I'm also assuming there are some specs that haven't broken yet. Because more CPU and more battery life are two things I don't need over my 6S. I expect a use change feature like 3D Touch. Or that camera better be a major improvement with optical stabilizer.

By the end of september I will have a new phone and it will be water resistant. If the iPhone doesn't give me that option I will probably go with something else for the next year and see if the next iPhone adds it. I would also like things like wireless charging but apple doesn't seem interested in that in the least bit.

I will but to the smaller iPhone 7 leaving the 6s plus
Ditto for me. Especially if the Space Black rumors are true.

Size outweighs the benefits?
Don't know about the original poster, but for me, yes. While I love the features of the 6s+ (especially the camera), I'm growing tired of it filling my front pocket (don't feel safe putting in the back one, as I live in New York City) and feeling it's weighty bounce whenever I'm walking. Using a belt holster with this big phone was even more uncomfortable (and made me look like an ATF agent).

One of my students showed me her just-purchased 6s, and I as held it, I longingly remembered how good that size feels in the hand.

If I do get the 7, I'll probably pick up an iPad mini for sustained reading and quick-edits -- the 6s+ doesn't really cut it for those uses, IMO.

i will get the smaller size since i have the new ipad pro 9.7 space gray 128 GB

I'll upgrade my 6+. I'll go for the 7+ with 256GB if available. I wish and still hold out a sliver of hope that they change the design at least slightly. I could not care less about the headphone jack though that I probably used 5 times in 2 years...probably 5 times in the almost 10 years I've had iPhones.

I definitely will be upgrading as I have been every year since the original iPhone. I'm hoping they release a 256GB model. As for the possible removal of the headphone jack I couldn't care less as I use bluetooth headphones exclusively.
