Still sporting the 6 Plus 64gb

Having a hard time justifying the 6s and the 7 doesn't look any different for the most part.

Am enjoying the low monthly bill with Verizon because I am month to month and don't have a device payment agreement.

If it doesn't have wireless charging or at least water resistant features though...that would be the only reason that I want to maybe make the jump.

I really don't want to (6S Plus 128).

I might be swayed by a space black color and waterproofing. Without both of these I might skip (and I usually upgrade every year).

To be honest, everything I could want in an iPhone 7 (or maybe iPhone 8) is in Samsung's Note 7 (pure black color, water resistance, edge-to-edge OLED display, plus VR). I just wish I wasn't so deeply tied into iOS, which I definitely prefer. I might still pick one up to shake things up a bit.

Off-topic, but I really think the iPhone 4 was one of the best releases Apple ever made. It blew any competition out of the water. I miss that phone....

With the incremental upgrades we should all be expecting in a smartphone in 2016 it actually makes the decision harder. I know my 6S Plus will be fine until at least next year, but that being said if this in fact the third iteration of the 6 that would mean another increase in internals for this phone will make it utterly ridiculous performance wise as if the 6S Plus wasn't already a pleasure

I think I have decided that if the new iPhone doesn't impress I am going to go with the Note 7 this year. I'm in the same boat with the Apple integration, but I can only justify that keeping me in an iphone so long.

If the rumors prove true, I'm not really all that enthusiastic and will wait for the majority of reviews (both short-term and long-term) to come in first. While I don't doubt the dual lens camera would be an improvement, I would like to view photo samples at 100%, particularly looking for artifacts in the processing. I also use both bluetooth and wired headphones/earphones and much prefer the wired ones, especially because some of them blow any bluetooth device out of the water when it comes to sound quality.

I'm actually considering downsizing to the 5SE -- the one thing I love about the 6S Plus is the battery life, and on all reviews the 5SE pretty much equals the longevity of the 6S Plus.

I will, but only because the vibrate on my 6S Plus is trash now and I'm just too lazy to go to the Apple Store and get it replaced. Then again, if nothing on the 7 Plus wows then I'll probably just get it fixed then. No real reason to upgrade honestly. It's a want not a need.

Why not use apple care over the phone

I'm not even upgrading my 6 Plus to the 7 much less if I had a 6s. Just last week I got it swapped for a new one due to a battery issue so i feel it has a new lease on life now.

Imo Samsung made a little mistake to use the same Exynos 8890 / Snapdragon 820 processor which is already 6 months old and used in the Galaxy S7/S7 Edge. There used to be a time where the Note series had the best and latest processors, something to look forward to. Too bad it's not like that anymore. Also only offering an edge variant of the Note is also a bad thing in my opinion, as I prefer flat displays.

The Note 7 will not be able to compete with the 6s/6s Plus, performance wise. You can see the video below where the S7 (with the same processor as the Note 7) gets owned by the 6s, there are more examples on YouTube where the 6s comes out in front in speed tests again and again. Considering the iPhone 7/ 7 Plus is coming out next month with the A10 processor, it will crush the Note 7 even more. So, to call the Note 7 a big milestone in smartphone territory would be a little exaggerated.

I've seen those speed tests. What they fail to take into account is my attention span and ability to care if my apps are opening a few seconds or fractions of a second slower. :p Lol, my brain is old technology. No way to upgrade that. I think the only time I'll notice the decreased speed is when trying to open Pokemon Go in time to snag goodies from a Pokestop on the side of the road. And frankly Pokemon Go is something I wouldn't play on my Note 7 anyway. That game lives on my SE which is always on me.

Most of the time I am just interested in features. I really want that S-Pen functionality. Very badly. I'm not going to Note 7 because I'm ticked off at Apple per se. I'm going toward a feature set I've decided makes a lot of sense for me and that I have long daydreamed would happen with Apple.

As for the original question to this thread...well, I won't be preordering this year, that's for darned sure. I really don't want to reward Apple with a sale until I see if they're offering something compelling in exchange for removing a feature I use all the time. I don't want to be dragged by my nose into the future as they say. Frankly I'm getting tired of being dragged by my nose at all and want Apple to kiss my butt for a change. They did a great job of that with the SE. I'm very happy with mine. That little phone has a long term home in my pocket. It's my 6S Plus that I need to figure out.

I don't know really, I had every iPhone since 2007, never been a fan of TouchWiz or Samsung finish...but this year...the Note 7 is tempting...I can't just ignore the hardware in this device, yesterday I almost pre-ordered!
esp with the 256GB Free SD card that comes with the pre-order thing...
I don't mind Android, I have a problem with TouchWiz...but based on all the rumors we've heard I think this year's iPhone is gonna be one of the stupidest updates ever and if I decided to buy...it will be based on my Apple Fan thing not cause it deserves the money...

I also have had every iPhone since the 3GS. With AT&T Next and no contracts, it makes the decision harder.

There is nothing wrong with my 6s Plus and I have AC+ on it. Apple recently replaced it under warranty for vibrate motor (of course, another Samsung chip).

Wireless charging, water resistance, and Space Black are things that would tempt me.

Could care less about the so-called camera improvements and not a fan of the headphone jack being removed.

For the first time ever I wanna do the responsible thing in this instance and keep the 6S Plus. Nit to mention in my experience in owning most of the phones Apple has released the S cycle has always been where I

I must say as the days grow closer I'm leaning towards the more responsible thing to do and keep my 6S Plus. This phone operates as it did last September and will most likely if not definitely show no signs of age with iOS 10

I am typically someone who gets a new iPhone every year. But this year I just don't see the need....the main selling point is removal of the aux jack and a dual lens camera system? Not at all interesting, really disappointing to see Apple continue to disregard innovation. iPhone sales are down and they're releasing boring products...
