...shutup. if people bought an iPhone, its because they also needed a phone.

Nahh, I like the convenience of having to carry one device than to carry an iPod and phone.

Besides, the camera on the iPod Touch can't do still shots, right?

I bought iPod touch before iPhone, and may buy the new touch. Don't listen to music on the iPhone (unless I leave toych at work accidentally) - that's the iPods job

The iTouch has always been way to expensive for what you get and the new revision hasn't changed that.

I used an iPod Touch (2G) for 18 months before getting the iPhone 4 .. I'm keeping the iPhone! I'm in love with having 3G, and not having to carry a seperate phone.

I haven't touched my Touch since I got the iPhone.

Actually it can.

Video recording, HD (720p) up to 30 frames per second with audio; still photos (960 x 720) with back camera

Note, however, that the resolution size is much smaller than the iPhone 4's.

This thread should be "Who's NOT buying the new iPod Touch because he/she has the iP4". I really don't see a reason for returning the iP4 in favor of the touch.

Return the iPhone 4 and then what... get another phone to carry around on top of the iPod Touch? That seems a little ridiculous to me.

Let me tell you the reason: You can sell the iPhone for $600-$1,200, depending on condition/GB, etc, and buy an iPod touch for $229+tax. Then buy another phone to use for text and calls and have several hundred dollars left for whatever. A pair of Ray-Ban aviators and a pair of Beats studio headphones perhaps.

actually, the iPod touch now unites portable gaming device + portable video player + portable music player + wi/fi internet device + VERY decent point'n'shoot camera (as of this version)

edit: oh, the resolution for stills is just 720p aswell ... disappointing :(

Ok, got me there. Making some money out of it is perhaps the only reason why one would get rid of the iP4. However the reasons NOT to do it are quite a few more...

I already carry too much crap on a daily basis, and you think I should add to it?

No. I always thought and still think that the iPod touch is pointless unless you can't use an iPhone for business reasons. Better to carry just one device if you possibly can.
