If the new touch was really an iPhone (spec-by-spec) without the phone . Sure, I would.

I have no problems using my Sony Ericsson "Dummy" W760i Phone.

but everyone have to admit the new ipod touch look like an iphone directly from the future, this thing is the sexiest device i've ever seen... just give it the ability to call and recieve calls and i give away my ip4 in a second, i dont care about a 5mp camera or gps i want this sexy slim design!

That back is disgusting. I had the 1st iPod Touch and the back was scratched up in a week.

The new iPhone 4 design looks way better.

The ipod touch is actually a nice alternative to the iphone, because it dosen't require data fees or a 2 year contract. I wonder if Google voice would work?

New iPod Touch = iPhone4 -bumper (throw in a deathgrip/antenna bridge to fully simulate the new iPod)

So if you look at it that way.. I already have the new iPod Touch, all i need to do is to touch it in it's naughty area. (.. even tho I've not had any signal issues since launch, but I'll play along with all the alleged drama)

the iphone looks like brick compared to the touch, and I think the metall back is beautiful, the ip4 back scratch also easily, but you just see it more on the touch, it's still more resistent than the glass back of the ip4 and i bet it feels way better than the iphone, damn I want this thing...

Still has the same old crappy camera. Do not want.

You're joking right?

Nope, too much in love with my iphone4 and the convenience of it to replace it with an itouch. Also, the iphone4's design is awesome! So much better then the same old design of the itouch and the iphone3g

Not a chance. I couldn't be happier with my iPhone 4. The iPhone is a phone. That's a huge part of the package to individuals who purchase the device.

That chrome finish on the back of any iPod Touch/Classic is something that owners will already know that just touching the thing makes it look ugly let alone scratches.

Carrying two devices suck... not worth the savings. But it is viable for those that can't afford $360 a year for data plan.

The iPod Touch has always = the iPhone without the phone and a few other features. I rather carry around one device than two and for many 3G/GPS is something they do not want to give up. Nothing has really changed, it always goes iPhone in June and iPod Touch in September resembling the new iPhone. I still don't have my IP4 yet but don't plan on changing my mind to the iPod Touch.

Let me tell you the reason: You can sell the iPhone for $600-$1,200, depending on condition/GB, etc, and buy an iPod touch for $229+tax. Then buy another phone to use for text and calls and have several hundred dollars left for whatever. A pair of Ray-Ban aviators and a pair of Beats studio headphones perhaps.

In other words, go back to the exact same situation that led me (and many others) to get an iPhone in the first place? If I wanted a separate iPod and phone, I'd never have gotten an iPhone to begin with.

Plus, the Touch has no GPS, requires a connection to a WiFi network to do anything with the internet and crappier camera (lower resolution photos, no flash).

The Touch is great don't get me wrong. But if you already got an iPhone it would be really stupid to replace it with a separate phone and iPod when the iPhone does both.

No way! It looks really nice, but I'm in love with my new iPhone 4. I had a "regular" cell phone and the 1st Gen. iPod Touch for 2 years, and a week ago I got the iPhone 4 with 1 year still left on my old phone's contract. I wanted it that much, I just couldn't wait! I carried both devices around with me, so I can't tell you how much nicer it is to have my phone and iPod in one device! Plus, you can't always find wifi, so if I really need the internet, I've got 3G. (I could check email etc. on my old cell, but it's not the same as on an iPhone at all).

Nah, i'll keep the i4 thank you :) I will be buying a new nano for those times where i want to listen to music but dont need my phone, like work, biking etc. Buttons are soo 1st 1/2 2010 anyway..
