Ever since kindergarten I was always known as someone who doesnt share well. So within a week of getting my iPad 1, I bought one for my wife. I recently just upgraded to the 2 and my wife says she doesnt think she needs to upgrade.

I guess I got lucky since my wife doesn't want her own. Actually she doesn't even use mine much.

I don't have an iPad yet but will have one within 1.5 months (backordered since March 9th!). Anyhow, I don't think my husband will be interested in my iPad 2. He has a iPhone 3G and a MacBook but he's never been computer geeky.

I'm finishing law school while my finacee lives two hours away. We're in a joint custody agreement where we swap it every other week. It sucks.

Don't worry, You will be graduating from Law School soon (congratulations on that!), hopefully you'll have no issues buying another one. ;)

I've actually had to "push" my girlfriend (soon to be fiancee) to start using the iPad which I use a lot during my training, and after that, I barely saw it..., so I bought her the new iPad 2. Wasn't impossible but also wasn't very easy, since I'm in the 4th year of my medical residency (so 80-100 hours a week with minimal salary, I'm actually on call right now lol).

Better than having your fiance stopping you getting one in the first place because "we have no money". :(

(It's even worse when she's right )

Reason why apple wont introduce multiple use capability on ipads

If more than one person uses a single iPad enough to warrant multiple accounts, I don't see how multiple people would physically share it anyway. Taking turns or scheduling time on such things only works for some people, IMHO.

Got myself a white ipad 2 64GB 3G on launch day, brought it home and the wife looked very sad :D. Next day was passing by apple store and saw 20 people lined up around 9:30am (I'm in Canada) and got my wife a black ipad 2 16GB WIFI. She loves it!

Well my girlfriend waited in line with me to get a 64gig 3g black iPad 2 for me. But shes okay with only a pc laptop and an iPhone 4 for her self, and im okay with her being okay with that.

I just jailbroke her phone after the new unthetered jailbreak came out, and that will hove her exploring her phone for a new while :)

Waiting patiently for a iPad 2 jailbreak for me now :(

kids not wife

For me, it's my kids (5,4,2) who fight over our iPad 1. I have it in a thick rubber case (Incipio 1337) and it's still a bit thrashed after 8-9 months. My solution is to buy an iPad 2 (w/ Smart Cover) and have a svelte, clean unit for me and they can monopolize the old one.

Puzzling though it is to me, my wife doesn't like the iPad much - she couch-browses with our 15" MBP. For anything other than real computer work (file transfers, transcoding, heaving downloading or major typing tasks) I prefer the iPad to the MBP. She doesn't, and I think it's just because she's never taken the half hour to adjust to touch typing on the keyboard.

She tried haha. But I totaled my car and got a 5 figure settlement check, which even after paying a huge chunk of CC debt left me with some $. She couldn't really say no at that point since I was due for a new toy of some kind.

Here's another PITA though: getting random receipts from iTunes for purchases made on my account not by me. Apparently a trip to Spain necessitated a $10 Spanish language tutor app whose receipt mysteriously appeared yesterday in my inbox. Fortunately, I pick it back up tomorrow so she can cause no more mischief.

lol .. This thread is just funny to me. I just think of how she takes over my t-shirts. I'll get company or other around-the-house stuff and guess whose sporting them all around?

As per another thread, I purchased my iPad 2 on launch day. My wife did not see the need for an iPad, since we each have our own 17" uMBPs and 2 spare 15" PB G4 lying around. Well, she loved my iPad. She was using it a lot. I just recently got her own black 32gb wifi model. Now, peace has been restored in the house.

Now, my 3 year old grandson can use my wife's iPad. :D
