I think we will see Apple Watch 3 in September, other than the iPhone what else could Apple announce at their September keynote? They updated most products at WWDC, we saw:

New iPads
New Mac's including iMacs

I'm betting the September event we will see new iPhones perhaps a new Apple TV and a new Apple Watch series 3.

I disagree. I know many seem to be expecting a Series 3, but I said it before, The Apple Watch isn't a yearly release. I still believe March Through June 2018 for the next release. LTE would be a nice advantage,
But I don't see LTE as mainstream quite yet with Apple, let alone Samsung being really
The only other smart Watch to incorporate that.

Also, Apple doesn't have to fill the Keynotes with hardware for the sake of releasing hardware because they don't have anything else. This year, the iPhone will take a large portion of the Keynote being the tenth anniversary and considering the new facility will have a dedication. (Perhaps a virtual tour), Apple TV update, other demo's and services will be exhibited.

I'm being a cynic here, but I think this is how it will proceed.

I still think we will see a series 3 update, not expecting anything drastic like a redesign or anything but I do think there will be one.

Personally I'm hoping so as well considering I've held off on the great looking Ceramic Apple Watch series 2 as an upgrade from my current series 1 because of the 3 being announced later this year. We will see tho.

I do agree if we see an update, the casing will likely remain unchanged, and other internal enhancements with an upgraded processor, increased water resistance, improved heart rate sensor, additional casing colors, etc.

I definitely see the Ceramic Edition making its return, perhaps in black.

I'm betting that they won't do Series 3 this fall, because the Series 2 is a very solid watch, its primary "glaring" omission (if you wanted to find one) is lack of LTE, and that's probably a little further down the road (shoehorning that in with everything else without killing battery life), and I think Apple is unlikely to use the "Series 3" moniker without some really substantial change. They're not going to say, "Series 3! it's half a millimeter thinner and has a thermometer!", they're going to wait until they have a more compelling story to tell. Besides, they'll have their hands pretty full with new iPhones and possibly a new Apple TV (it could really use the attention to bring it up to current standards, and Tim did say, "we'll have more to talk about on the Apple TV later this year" at the end of its bit at WWDC).

I wouldn't be at all surprised if they do offer a new/different case color, or some such, on the Series 2, though, because that's tweaking an existing process rather than designing something new (and, of course, we'll need a set of fall colors for bands - gimme a strong darkish purple). And a black ceramic edition would be pretty cool, but it'd look a lot like the SBSS... I wonder if they'd do a Product Red ceramic?

I see a series 3 more health orientated. Especially in the area of blood glucose monitoring. Tim Cook is trying out a prototype right now. Like I said I would see it gearing more towards health than LTE.

I agree the Apple Watch will focus on health related advancements, being this is a primary focus with Apple and the Watch. However, glucose monitoring I still believe is years out. I know Cook was seen with an apparatus attached, but I think maturity of this technology won't be here by the next generation Apple Watch.

reason i ask is i just ordered the apple watch 2 stainless steel black

and i want my moneys worth.

I think alongside the new iphones they will not release a apple watch 3 but just release os4 to complement the iphone

there have been no leaks or anything plus i dont think they deem to upgrade yet.

what do you guys think

You will get your money's worth. You paid for a Series 2 Watch... you will get a Series 2 Watch - EXACTLY what you paid for.
