iOS 5 looks killer, but despite the major temptation to spend the $99 and get a dev account, I think I'll wait until it's released. I rely way too heavily on my iPhone and iPad to risk running a beta OS and potential crashes, data loss, app incompatibilities, etc.

I just finished downgrading to 4.3.3. If I had another iOS device suitable for v5 I'd put it on there, but I don't. And I need functional Exchange calendars. :(

I went back.

iPhone 4 and iPad 2

iPad kept hanging requiring hard reset and iPhone battery life was extremely bad (both fresh installs, not restored from backups).

I'm sticking with it.

The keyboard seems to have a bug or two that causes me to be a proofreader of everything I send and the battery isn't good at all. But other than that it is pretty damn solid.

Went back to 4.3.3, battery life sucked for me even after doing both restore from backup and then a clean install. Also trying for several days now of letting the battery die completely and then recharging, didn't help.

Issues with Wifi as well, dropping connections way to often and then at times couldn't get back on without rebooting the phone.

Try again when b2 comes out.

Just downgraded because I need to see genius tomorrow. The bugs and not being able to use certain apps killed ios 5 beta for me. I'll miss the notifications though.

Will they be able to see that my baseband is still ios 5 or will it be no problem?

Just wondering how many of you dev and non dev's went back to 4.3.3 ? Or are you going to stick it out with the betas to the end ?
So far i went back to 4.3.3 but i already miss it even with the few bugs i found.

I went back to 4.3.3 - I really liked notification center but I missed being able to tether and speed up my iPhone with "fakeclockup"

The notifications are nice but they are no match for lockinfo configured just the way I like it.

The baseband is reverted to the 4.3.3 baseband when you restore via iTunes. I've seen this incorrectly posted like a million times. If you put the phone in DFU mode and restore through Apple, and not through TinyUmbrella, your phone will be exactly how it was on 4.3.3, baseband included.

Guys im trying to revert back to 4.3.3 from iOS 5 but im having a hard time doing so. Anybody care to put some detailed instructions on how to perform the downgrade? Much help appreciated, thanks!

I'm honestly shocked so many are having issues with the iOS 5 beta. Mine runs great. FB works perfect, battery life is not reduced that much for me, and I've only run into few app issues. BoA app for some reason wont let me log in with my saved ID.

At what part are you running into trouble?

I had major battery issues after installing 5.0 (and yes, I "set up as new"). I personally didn't have a lot of the other issues people have mentioned but the battery thing did it in for me. I also realized that everything 5.0 offers can be done on the 4.3.3 jailbreak (in perhaps even better ways) and I can't live without the likes of TetherMe, iTransmission, WiFi Analyzer and a few other things. 5.0 is great but I can wait for a proper release and untethered jailbreak.

i went back for several reasons but the main one was when i would go to make a phone call it would freak out then comeback on after the person had picked up and it would say i talked 8,000 minutes...facebook not working sucked too:(

I would also like to see some instructions for how to do this. I don't want to lose everything on my phone.

any update ? anyone still running ios5 on there main phones with no major issues ?
so far so good here

Just went back last night. Too many apps were not working to justify using it. Maybe beta 2 will be better. Using 4.3.3 jailbroken to use mobilenotifier and lockinfo.

I went back to iOS 5 ... the new notifications and smoother animations were just too much to lose when I went back to 4.3.3.

Roll on beta 2, which by all accounts is said to be due this week.

I have IOS 5 on my verizon iphone 4, and me personally, I love it!! I mean there are two of my apps that are not compatible with IOS 5, but there are tv guide app and a newspaper app, so no big deal. And my battery is just as good as the first day I got the phone back in Feb

This is my first post on these forums, and I am sure that everyone here knows a lot about the ip4, but to the people who have battery problems with ios 5 beta, are you killing your apps that are running in the background when you are not using them?
