seems like alot of people are upset...
im guessing the lines will be alot shorter on the 19th

Me. Not because I'm upset, but because I don't have the money to throw away on a new iPhone. I'm not paying $700 just for autofocus, video, and some slightly faster speeds. I'll wait until next year, when my contract is up. Hopefully Apple will have something even better then.

Just remember, there are WAY more non-iPhone people out there than there are iPhone-people.

The folks saying "I'm not going to upgrade" really won't make a big difference to a line's length.

I certainly won't be. I'm going to keep my 3G. I'll be damned if I'll pay $700 for a phone. iPhone or not.

Don

I'm not. Happy with my 3G. The 3Gs isn't offering anything extra that "WOWs" me. I'm one of the many AT&T users who are disppointed with having to wait longer for MMS though.

You can take advantage of our full retail pricing for an iPhone at participating retail sales locations. Additional discounts may be available on 03/12/2010. More Details: Equipment discounts are available from time to time based on a number of factors: service tenure, spending levels, payment history, usage practices, and other factors.

So I wont be in line till March 2010 at the soonest, and by then, I will just wait until the new one next year.

This reminded me of something my first girlfriend said to me.. "All this build up and excitement just to be dissappointed in the end"

-It must of been the dismount!

so whats teh deal with ordering it online...does it get to you on the 19th? how does that work?

did they do it like this with the 3g also? available to pre-order online right away?

September 30, 2009 is my upgrade for one of the lines on my family plan. I'll use it as the upgrade. So, no new iPhone until October for me.

I don't stand in line for nothing. If they're going to be that busy on the 19th, I don't believe they will because of the economy, I'll just wait an extra day.

They will have something better, it will be 4G and it will be worth the upgrade then.

I don't think they were aiming at getting existing customers, as you can get a pretty good upgrade with the 3.0 OS for free.

Exactly, most of the stuff is available with 3.0. I also have a feeling that the Dev Team will find a way to hack the iPhone's camera to use the video feature (if it's not tied to hardware). Other than that, not that much worth upgrading for.

I'm holding out for the next revision. The macbook pro updates were nice though.

After two years of pretty lame upgrades (last year all we got was 3G, this year all we got was... well idk what we got this year) I'm expecting a NICE upgrade in 2010. I won't be standing in line until June/July of 2010.

I'm not sure. I was about to pre-order when I got the the pricing details (after selecting the plans). They want to charge $18 for activation and another $18 for "upgrade fee."

I just might keep using my 2G iPhone after all. $36 in BS fees - BAH!

I imagine the lines will be very short since you can order it from Apple.com right now for June 19th delivery.

I know the site says arrives on the 19th but I just got my order confirmation email and its saying that it ships on the 19th and delivers on the 24th. I know this is just an estimation but hopefully it's wrong.

PS. I bought the 16GB white 3G S and it cost me $422.94 after tax. I bought my 3G in mid November, just incase anyone was wondering.

Ditto. The new stuff -video and voice control, mainly- is not a compelling enough reason to upgrade from my white 3G.
