I think they just have one BTO configuration for each model. From what I've seen so far, they are:

13" MBP
3.3GHz / 512GB / 16GB

15" MBP
2.9GHz / 1TB / 16GB / 460 dGPU

Interestingly enough, these "ultimate" models are both one step down from the maximum storage option. I guess they thought that the 1TB and 2TB upgrades for the 13" and 15" were too expensive even for the small segment of the market that walks in and requests one of these ultimate configurations.

how can you check if the stores have these config. I want the exact specs in the 15"

What's the build? Just curious bc I've only seen maxed out 13" but Im looking for a regular CPU, 16gb ram, 512 SSD config.

15" Space Gray, 2.9 Ghz, 1 TB, 460 GPU. Unfortunately, I've been in hold for 10 mins waiting for the store to answer, but no one is picking up now and they closed 2 mins ago. This stinks, because I don't want to drive an hour and wait in line for them to open if they don't still have it in stock.

I wish Apple didn't make it this hard.

Yeah they have several configurations. I got a base 13" TB but bumped up storage to 512gb. I was surprised they had it. This may be a popular model.

I called the local Apple store phone number looking for a 15" model. Although the local number connected me to a rep in Austin he was able to find me a base model 15" MBP in silver at the local store. Just put in my order over the phone for in-store pick up later today.

That's just the higher level stock model listed on their website, not a BTO. Glad you were able to grab one though, enjoy!
