I have a black first generation and just ordered a new black one from Verizon. The wife has a white iPad2
 
I've always gone for the black model. I'm not really a white kind of girl. Far too fancy for me :)
 
So I'm not so much a lady, but meh. I chose black iPad because... I'm not really sure why. I've been wavering, but I'll pretty sure I'll stick with black.

I find the difference in numbers between the men and women much more interesting!
 
I can't really vote because I don't prefer either. I normally get everything in black but this time i bought the new iPad in white to mix it up. Oh, and I am a man.
 
Man, White (coming from black), in order to perceive a larger than actual upgrade ;)

But - red smart cover - a must, even though I think that $69 is pushing it.

In other news, it looks like MR has a 6:1 male to female ratio. I thought it was much higher.

My iPhone 3G was white. But it was easy to go black on the 4 since I bought it just after release, and no white.

My iPad 3G was black. So the New iPad will be white. With a blue smart cover.

My truck is white. But only because of limited choice in used affordable pickups 10 years ago. It was nicer than the black one available, and I didn't want black in Oklahoma.
 
I'm a man. I own a black iPhone 4, a black iPad 2 and I'm getting a white iPad 3. The iPad 2 will stay within the family, so getting the white iPad 3 will make it easier to distinguish between them. Will probably buy a white iPhone 5 later this year as well.

I man with with white iPad and my fave colour lime green smart covers the grey and green insides. I pre-ordered white but did consider black only cuz the zagg turns yellowish tinge but I work in retail and can replace it whenever I like :)
 
Just trying to be a science geek here

Assuming that users can only vote once and there are no people signing in twice to vote. Here are some interesting facts I got from SPSS (a statistic software):

- There are no statistically significant correlation between the men/women choosing white/black. Meaning that it is more like a arbitrary choice.

- Although not significant, women actually has more tendency in choosing back than men. Note that the mean of men is 0.43, while women has a mean of 0.33. Since I used "0" as black and "1" as white, and women has a mean value further from the 0.5 (when it is completely arbitrary)
 
Guy here.

Black iPhone, black iPad. I really like the looks of white though. But black is better for actually using the phone and pad for video, IMO. Makes the colors pop.
