Yes, economy really does suck. The last package I got from Apple via FedEx got to my house at 5:46... I won't be holding my breath.

And I think its based on when they were given to FedEx. The earlier the packages were given, the cheaper shipping options Apple could choose and still have it get to the destination on time. So us economy people probably had our iPhone shipped before the priority people... at least that makes sense to me

If it's in LA now and you got the email, my bet is you'll see your phone tomorrow! Let us know when it comes. I will post too. :) (now where is the activation instruction thread?)

I have no idea. The facility it's at is about 7 min away. I'm sure they will pass my area more than once before they decide I'm worthy from them to bring my device.
 
I'm in so cal and according to my tracking # mine is still in fort worth. I have a feeling it just hasn't been updated cause its giving me a delivery date for tomorrow, the 23rd by 3pm.

My order on apple.com got in the early evening. I tried since midnight but the order didn't go through until very late - one of the latest for launch day delivery (at that time).

When did the rest of you get your orders in?

Dang it, that makes sense to me, too. Mine shipped on June 19th and I was so happy to be ahead of the pack.

My order was so late (7:31pm) I was given a July 2 shipping date. So I need to stop whining.

My order went in at 2:03am PDT on the 15th.

Ah, okay, so manofthehour's theory seems to be right then. If it makes you feel any better, I was on the computer at midnight until 5:30 AM, then back again in the late morning, then back at the end of the day (around 5-6:30PM). It was grueling.
 
Well, mine left in the 1:20pm batch from Oakland but it still doesn't show as arrived anywhere in Los Angeles. I'm not optimistic I'll get it tomorrow.

Mine just arrived at Oakland at 9:56pm, so you shouldn't feel too bad. It's only an hour flight to get it down to LA. I would worry more if this was still in Memphis.

That's what my update said too, 9:56 PM. I just now called fedex
1800 463-3339 and put in my tracking number. The automated voice said it was "on route to the FE station located in 9xxxx (my zipcode)."
 
I'm in the Inland Empire and mine just arrived at the destination sort facility in Ontario, California (departed Oakland, CA 2:30 PM PST). Looks like I'll have it by tomorrow.
 
I am also in the 818 (GO BRUINS!) and got this update:

6/22/2010 9:36:00 PM LOS ANGELES, CA, US Arrived at FedEx Ramp
6/22/2010 1:20:00 PM OAKLAND, CA, US Left FedEx Sort Facility
6/21/2010 10:09:00 PM OAKLAND, CA, US Arrived at Sort Facility

Seems like she's here already so hopefully it can make it to me by tomorrow. I've been using simpletracking.com since that tends to give a little more info than fedex does.

Oh so yours just arrived in Oakland. Hmm...

Mine got to Oakland on the 21st at 10 pm and it left on the 22nd at 1 pm, yet it is now 1:12 am and still no update.
