So I used my postage scale and weighed out the sugar in a Coke... Yum!

1 Gram

10 Grams

20 Grams

39 Grams (Regular Can of Coke)

39 Grams w/ size comparison

Large Fountain Coke @ McDonald's: 86 grams of sugar! (tared with penny)

Um, I'll have water thanks.

Ha ha

I opened this expecting to see some medical photos of the effects of sugar drinks on your teeth or something. Sort of like pictures of the effects of smoking on lungs.

But a few pictures of a fancy scale and various piles of sugar?

I think I'll continue drinking my occasional Dr. Pepper, thanks. :)

Which is why I've stopped drinking soda for the past 5 years. Water and Soymilk FTW! Occasional Gatorade for strenuous activities and sweet tea every now and then :p

I also stopped drinking soda about 4 years ago when I took a fit and wellness class. It's crazy how bad this stuff is for you!

ummmm, coopdog is my nickname....

I'm not a fan of soda but I'll drink it if nothing else is available. I never drink Coke though, it leaves your teeth feeling gritty.

I'm actually one of the few people who enjoys diet soda, in fact, I like it better than the regular counterparts. Diet Cherry Vanilla Dr. Pepper > *

I drink a lot more than I probably should, but hey, no sugar! :D

Once you stop drinking soda, tea, anything that is sugar based, and start drinking water, you realize just how much of a waste it is to drink anything but water.

The more you drink water, the less you want to drink anything else, and you actually begin to crave water. It is an awesome feeling/sensation :)

You mistyped, I guess with those terms, you were speaking about cocaine, right?

Or you actually meant... water? Really? Like... plain water? [Gasp!]

kinda funny

I'm enjoying a cup of tea this morning that's about the size (maybe a tad less) than a soda (it's a big mug). I put 1 teaspoon of sugar (about 5 grams) in, and it's sweet enough, bordering on too sweet. I know this is a matter of taste, but I certainly can't imagine putting 8 or more teaspoons in my tea (which is about what's in a coke).

I was expecting rotting teeth photos or something. heh.

I can't give up Soda, especially Coke. Though I have cut down on it's intake I have no reason to stop drinking any soda because I'm very healthy. The moment I need to make cut backs I'll move onto something sugar free or healthier.

Water is great, but no substitute for flavored drinks with meals. No no no.:)

I'm not saying I agree with everything they say, but I do think it's food (drink?) for thought.

If caring for the body isn't enough to stop drinking soda, perhaps interest in our fellow humans will tip us over the edge...

I don't drink nearly as much soda as I used to. I'm down to (usually) one can a day. I find myself noticing now how sweet some sodas are, and wondering if they are too sweet, something I wouldn't have pondered a year ago.

k- I officially had my last Coke last week :p

I'll stick to my Volvic and cordials now :)
