They could probably add a couple of complications to the bottom of the face. I really like the Solar face, but I find myself relying on the complications most days. I guess it's a good weekend/vacation watch face for me.

I agree with the relying on complications part, especially once you set it accordingly to everything you use the most. I would still much rather have them right there on the face vs opening the dock or going to that specific app.

Check out the jellyfish one too. Although the Solar face is more interesting…

Jellyfish is my absolute favourite! I have been using it 99% of the time since launch day of the first Apple Watch. The only better watch face for me would be space themed motion faces. However, I do love the solar face too

Never used it but really like the look - The flower and butterfly really is quite feminine so might check out how jelly fish is - solar really lacks some complications as earlier noted

The solar face is the only one Ive used on my S2 since I got it out of the box. I love the simplicity. Ive tried others, but this is my favorite. Especially for "telling time" without actually looking at the time. Sometimes I like to know just how much day light I have left, rather than the actual time of day.

I wish the blue was a different shade or color as for me it's a bit of a dealbreaker, but it's a nice face and love how it goes through the full day, really nice one to show off

After your post I tried it on and have kept it so far.. LOVE the look but still kind of miss my activity circles and the current temperature, but an adjustment of my dock might do the job

I've always found the Solar face to be attractive. I don't think I would want more complications for it, since minimalism is part of its appeal. You can always put it next to a high-information face with lots of complications, so it's easy to swipe back and forth.

Apple seems to have listened in and added this watchOS 4. We even have an analog version of this face in watchOS 6. Great stuff.

YES! I absolutely love this face and it's one of my top 3 favorite / regular. The solar graph is very clean and futuristic at the same time. It's the most watch time-telling efficient design too since you can fully grasp the extent to which the day has passed by and how much daylight you have left with a quick glance. The further lack of complication ensures this design remain minimalistic and tidy and I'm ok with that.

I've been using Solar Dial a lot lately, which still gives that visual representation of how much daylight is left but also includes complications. A single tap on the Solar Dial face tells you exactly how long the day is in terms of hours and minutes. Here in the Pacific NW we are down to 10 hours and 9 minutes...and getting shorter every day until Winter solstice.

I still like the minimalism of the old Solar watch face, but if you want complications in a similarly intriguing face I think Apple knocked it out of the park with Solar Dial. Definitely my favorite of the new faces.

I switched to it after reading this thread, I have one complication (weather) at the bottom, thats enough for now. If I want more info, I will switch back Solar Dial.

Haven't used it for a while - just swapped back as we have changed to winter time zone this morning, which means even less sunny afternoons here in Denmark
