Here's an fairly easy one for English speakers:

With my first 2 letters, I a man.
With my first 3 letters, I a woman.
With my first 4 letters, I a brave man.
Complete, I am a brave woman.
What word am I?

"However, take away my last letter, and I can make brave men and women do stupid and sometimes dangerous things." :p

Darn. I could have got that one.
Yep.

And Yup. I guess it was too easy.:p The first time I heard that riddle it took me a few days to figure it out.:( Maybe I should have changed it up a bit with it being the drug Heroin. ;)
:mad:;)

Mary's mum has four children.
The first child is called April.
The second May.
The third June.
What is the name of the fourth child?

EDIT: Sorry about the double post! I wasn't thinking

A simple algebra problem;)

Mom is 21 years older than her son.
In 6 years, she will be 5 times older than him.
Where is the father?

In bed with the wife ;)

The kid is -9 months old.

Bah! Too easy for all you math geniuses here.:p
First time my buddy told me the riddle I thought: WTF?!:confused: Then I did the math and had a chuckle.

M = mom's age
C = child's age

M = C +21 /*From first statement
M + 6 = 5 * (C + 6) /*From second statement

(C + 21) + 6 = 5 * (C + 6)
C + 27 = 5C + 30
C - C + 27 - 30 = 5C - C + 30 - 30
-3 = 4C
-3/4 = 4C/4
-3/4 = C

12 months = 1 year

12 * (-3/4) = -9

-9 months = date of conception

Yeh basically the same as what I wrote out.

At first I thought I'd made a mistake because the number was negative...then realised the significance of 3/4 of a year :p

Obviously.

Korean rice cakes... not sure how they taste, but they aren't cakes.

To be a little more precise, they're more like dumplings than cakes, although they are made of rice flour. The "cake" name could possibly be derived from a loss of meaning in translation.

As can be predicted, they're very bland by themselves. In the tteokbokki dish I pictured earlier, they're simmered in a hot red pepper sauce with green onion (and occasionally sliced beef and chunks of pressed fish "cake", according to the chef's whims), then served with an optional sprinkle of toasted sesame seeds. Tteokbokki is commonly served as an appetizer in Korean restaurants here in the US.

I might have been able to solve it if i tried. But when i did try i realized somebody had already solved it.... :(

Two unknowns, two equations... piece of CAKE. ;)

Three unknowns, two equations, one degree of freedom... above my pay grade.
