[SOLVED] Can I install Leopard for MacBook on MacBook Air?

My mom recently purchased a white polycarbonate MacBook. It came with iLife 09. I have a MacBook Air (Rev-A). I wanted to install Leopard on the MacBook Air using the new MacBook Discs. (I want iLife 09) I would have done it, but when I looked at the disc I saw it said MacBook. Would it still be possible? Is there any other way to get iLife?

Nope. They're machine-specific. Please search the forums before posting, as you agreed that you would do when you signed up.

The disks supplied with Macs are designed to only work on the same model – so no, MacBook disks won't work on a MacBook Air.

It's to my belief that you can specify what you install from the install disks. I think iLife is included. I might be wrong. I have no idea about Macbook models though

Not when they're for a different model of computer.

They are Mac specific so don't try or you'll get loads of errors. Retail discs can go in any Mac though.

Not to mention it is against the EULA to install on more than one computer. The ethical thing to do if you want Leopard and iLife is to buy the retail version.

Not if the computer already has a Leopard installation on it. But like I said, Recovery discs are model specific.
