You’ll obviously need a Ford with Sync 3
Sync 3 needs to be updated to at least Version 2.2, as MacRumors previously explained here https://www.macrumors.com/2017/05/19/ford-carplay-2016-vehicles-sync-3-update/
You need to get one of Ford’s CarPlay compatible USB hubs. Most Ford models use the dual port hub (HC3Z-19A387-B) but a few others, like Focus and Mustang, use the single port one (HU5Z-19A387-A).
You can search and get them cheap on Amazon, Walmart, or eBay from $30-$60. Ford part sites charge a lot more. You should be able to look up a tutorial for installation, it’s fairly easy.
Other than that, Google is your friend and it’s pretty much plug and play
