Some Apple Apps Will No Longer Receive Every New Feature Without a Subscription

What about if you just get the Mac version of Final Cut Pro and not the bundle including both the iPad and Mac versions? Like if you purchased it as part of Apple's $200 Pro Apps for Education bundle?

As far as I am aware, you still get it and all the new features. Whether it permanently stays that way, I have no idea.
