What's the name of that Thai restaurant on State St? I was driving thru SB and came upon that great place. Ended it with perfect flan dessert.

Seems every fairly big college town should have an Apple store, but I'm sure the local independents that have invested a lot with Apple for many years will likely get screwed. I try to patronize such places, but there is always the allure of tax-free Amazon, which is a good store anyway, and fancy Apple stores which kind of stimulate one with their incredible fashion statements.

Most, if not every Apple store I know of is on a prime location. But like with all businesses, it is the customer who eventually pays the rent. But I cannot imagine an Apple store anywhere else.

Apple Store Finally!

I am so excited! I have visited and bought from Apple stores all over the country. I can't wait to have one in our home town. From the 90's to present apple has had a very large install base in SB and I am surprised it has taken so long. The commercial real estate market here is very limited. The city has a lot of limitations on what the retail district looks like and Apple, as we all know, tries to assert itself and doesn't like restrictions to it's vision.

We have an Apple authorized retailer called The MacMechanic and this will probably be his demise. I feel for him but at the same time he has limited hours and in the past has been less than helpful, slow service, "I'm smarter than you attitudes", and grumpy. He recently remodeled his store to look similar to an Apple Store and trimmed down on the gosh awful mess he has always had there. Time will tell.

By the way the Thai places on lower State Street are Galanga's and Zen Yai.
