Did you buy your Watch from Apple or T-Mobile?

Apple Online Store. That's a bs reason they are giving you. Follow the steps, and it should work.

Like is mentioned earlier, change your settings from tmobile account page. Check my previous post.

Thanks, that helped.

I can now make calls on watch (via cellular), but people calling me are just getting my VM.

You running into that too? Maybe it takes a few hours to fully connect the digits lines.

Been on the phone with T-Mobile for an hour going over the “fix”. After much back and forth, I was told that this will not work for business accounts when the Watch was purchase From Apple. Utter nonsense!

Just confirmed that the procedure outlined by rayskyy does work.

I have a business account, and Apple Watch purchased from Apple.

I made sure I was talking to someone with the Business Care dept.

Depending on who you talk to, you might have to walk that rep through the procedure provided by rayskyy. I insisted that I had a "friend" that was under the same circumstances as me and had talked to another rep earlier that went through the same procedure and everything worked. Had to do some arm wringing for a little bit, but it definitely works! Finally!

By the way, make sure you use greatestash’s procedure to link your DIGITS number with your cell number.

No; it's been working for me. Tried calling from another line and it rang my phone and watch together (phone BT off n watch connected to LTE). Next I put my phone to airplane mode and tried calling again and indeed my watch rang and was able to answer.

I started receiving calls, took like an hour or so for that to work.

It was weird, but I could start making calls on LTE almost immediately, just couldn't receive them for a little bit.

Good that it's working for you now. Yeah sometimes activation is weird.

Anyone using AT&T has the same problem as mine shown in the image below?
The watch registers AT&T network but has no connection to LTE.

I thought that's what it is supposed to look like when you're LTE is activated but you are nearby your iPhone or a recognized wifi network, and so the LTE doesn't connect when those conditions are met. Anyone else know for sure?

It was happening earlier when i activated too but then i checked my tmobile account and this is what i did which fixed the issue:
* Login to your tmobile account
* Choose the line which is activated for digits
* Click Manage Digits for that line
* It will open a new page and it will show all the numbers under your account
* Choose the digits number which is activated for your watch
* On next page, it will ask you with which number you want to Pair
* Choose your phone number from the list and click save.
* You will receive text that your digits phone number is paired with your other number.

After that, whoever calls on your phone, watch will ring as well (even if the phone is in airplane mode or off). Tested it myself and its working for me.

I couldn’t find the “manage digits” option you mentioned, but 45 minutes after speaking with T-Mobile I received a text that my digits number was merged with my iPhone and now everything works!

This process worked perfectly for me.
The problem is getting a rep to try this. Their notes say business customers will not work, so they push back on trying but if you get a rep to follow these instructions your problems with be resolved.

Finally got it fixed!

Here was the problem...

I was on AT&T Mobile Share Value plan. They had to upgrade me (only $3 more) to the Mobile Share Advantage plan.

At THAT point I was able to connect my watch to cellular.

I have to say, this was a cluster-F from both Apple and AT&T!

Did you just go through the normal process after changing your plan to activate the watch?

Nevermind got it fixed and now activated. Literally took 5 mins if you have ATT. Check to make sure you have one of the plans currently offered and if you don't switch it and it should work with numbersync.

Try another business care rep. They told me the same thing... had to talk him into giving the fix a shot.

I have business and purchased from Apple. Working great now

My biggest complaint about the Apple Watch series 3 is that the Iphone and Watch has to be on the same account. My phone is on the company account and they won't pay for services on the watch. Does any know if there will be a fix for having to have the phone and the watch on the same account? I the Samsung Gear watch with LTE isn't set up like that.

Apple Watch Series 3 models are being delivered across the United States and the rest of the world today, and as customers start attempting to activate their new LTE devices, some of them are running into serious setup issues.

On the MacRumors forums, several AT&T customers have received messages stating AT&T is not supported. Support reps seem confused about how Apple Watch activation works, with one rep telling MacRumors reader KG87 that his watch needs a new number.

Many of the affected AT&T customers have said the company seems to be having trouble activating watches not purchased directly through AT&T and have been spending quite a lot of time on the phone in an attempt to get the problem ironed out. Some customers are even being told to call back tomorrow. From MacRumors reader Greg:According to another AT&T support rep, customers who ordered an Apple Watch directly from Apple will not be getting them activated until tomorrow because they're missing key information Apple was supposed to send them.

Verizon users don't seem to be having as much trouble as AT&T users, but several have been told Verizon's systems aren't fully functional. Verizon is said to be doing maintenance to fix the problem and there's no estimate of when issues will be worked out. Many VZW customers may not be able to make phone calls due to the server issues.

T-Mobile customers also appear to be having significant issues, like MacRumors reader Jesse, who said he's spent several hours on the phone with T-Mobile trying to work out an authentication error with his social security number. "T-Mobile reps are completely unprepared for dealing with this issue today. Spent many hours on the phone with T-Mobile and Apple already. Apple claims this is T-Mobile issue," he told us.

T-Mobile customers have also been told the company is having system wide issues affecting the signal T-Mobile users are getting on the Apple Watch.

At least some of the activation issues are due to customers who have incompatible plans. AT&T customers with a grandfathered unlimited data plan, for example, are not able to use the Apple Watch Series 3, despite assurances from AT&T reps that the watch was compatible with the plan.

Across the pond, some EE subscribers in the UK are having the same activation problems, and EE reps are at a loss on how to helpThough some customers are having issues, others have been able to activate their LTE watches with no problems and have even said it's an easy process. For the subset of users running into issues, though, it's been a frustrating afternoon attempting to deal with Apple support and carrier representatives who are still struggling to figure out all the quirks and problems that come along with supporting a new device.

Update: Several AT&T customers with grandfathered unlimited data plans have been able get an Apple Watch Series 3 to work with their plans with the help of an AT&T representative. The Apple Watch can be set up as an independent wearable and then linked to the iPhone using NumberSync.

EE in the UK are claiming the same. They are saying that business accounts wont work for LTE and people have to have a consumer account. EE customers in the uk are having issues no matter whether the phone and watch came from Apple director or through a carrier. Like a lot of posts in the forums, it seems to be hit and miss as to whether people can connect or not. There seems to be no pattern or common root cause.

I have a business account, and EE told me I needed to change to a consumer tariff on a business account (no idea exactly what that means). They made the change yesterday, and I still cannot activate it.
[doublepost=1506712688][/doublepost]As of now, a senior advisor at EE in the UK told me they have no idea what the issue is. The person seemed a bit weary from the many problems, and it seems that Apple hasn't given them much info.

FWIW, it's cheaper here to get the watch contract: it's £5 a month (around $7), the first six months free with unlimited data, and 10 GB/month data after that.

I spent almost 90 minutes on phone with AT&T. They refused to allow Apple Watch to be added to grandfather plan and then the only plan they could switch me to is almost $40 more a month than I pay now to get the cellular service on my Apple Watch. I told them no way - $10 a month is plenty. Now I guess I need to switch to T-Mobile after 10 years with AT&T.

Sucks :( I was on an AT&T business plan with grandfathered unlimited data for ~6 years. One day my service just cut off for no reason, so I called to ask what happened and they said I was "abusing my data plan"??? For context, I never used more than ~6gb a month. So they just turned it off. No explanation, no remedy, nothing. I'm on T-mobile now, and despite my initial Series 3 connection woes, T-mobile support/service is amazing. Coverage isn't as good as AT&T in my experience, but I've noticed improvements over the years. And with a possible Sprint merger, it can (hopefully) only go up from here. Good luck!

So I had to return my Series 3 steel apple watch due to issues now the wait is forever and a day for a new one. I have the series 0 currently. Here is my question Bestbuy have a SS Space Black new in box series 2 for $429.99 should i get that and just wait on the Series 3 with lte I can sell both my watchs to put a dent in the series 3. Is the series 2 a good enough update over series 0?

I was quite happy with my SS space black Series 2 vs my older Series 0, with excellent battery life and speed. I started with a series 0 from day one, and then a series 1 that replaced it when the first watch was destroyed in a mountain bike wreck, before getting my series 2 this summer.

But if you have a Series 3 on order that's coming within the next month then I'd just stay with the Series 0 until it shows up, and then you only have to sell one used watch. Re-sale value on these is not great, and your almost new Series 2 will lose you a boat load of money.

These carriers charge $10 whole extra dollars per month for a device that will a) default as much as possible to the iphone or wifi and b) would likely only be used in place of the phone (resulting in little extra network usage overall) and they botch the launch too!

AND they pull stuff like this:

Really? The "plan" is incompatible? Sounds like AT&T wants even MORE than the $10 per month that is already outrageous!

Sorry- OK, rant off. My heart goes out to the people being screwed by this.

Just got off the phone with AT&T. I have a grandfather unlimited data plan with ATT. The would NOT let me activate NumberSync unless I change my plan. This makes no sense other than to force older longterm users into higher cost plans. I will just return it to Apple and trade down. Apple should post something about this to avoid a rash of returns - but so should ATT for that matter.

So everyone with Verizon that can’t get it to work...don’t go to tech support, just ask for telesales and ask them to add a new number and do numbersync on it...tech support had no idea after 4 calls...telesales made it work in 5 minutes.

On mine they already had a number assigned for the watch but the watch is not displaying a sim number. Do you suppose this will work as well?
