You're welcome. In the meantime, I'm enjoying the hell out of my watch for an entire year before you do and realizing that these "bugs" are rare and not a big deal.

It's a big deal to the people who bought the watch to use as an exercise Accessory. This is hardly a "rare" bug. It's a major feature of the watch.

----------

Having the same issues. Not happy at all with my Apple Watch after 1.01, even aside from the heart rate sensor issues.

----------

Same. Texts going to my phone and not the Watch. After looking at the phone, my Watch buzzes through the notifications. :(

----------

Yep. It's useless now. So frustrating. Wish I hadn't updated to 1.01.

This is the reason I do not update my apple devices as soon as a new patch comes out. To be honest I wait for about the 4th/5th patch before I consider it. apple has had a bad run with early updates in the last few years. It's not like they do not know the hardware of have resources to QA....... For me generally the first release is solid of an OS, as apple have tested it.

hahaha :D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D

I love it, Apple is fast becoming a joke of a software company, the ONE THING they make themselves ENTIRELY they keep breaking, iOS, Mac OSX...

I wonder how those with the $17,000 feel now Apple has broken it for them? They won't get VIP service with a software bug hahaha...

What a joke.

Hey Cook, how about you get your stupid head out of thinness obsession land and make something that doesn't break every time you update it?

Health is only one of the primary reasons to have an Apple Watch

Apple will get this right after about 8 fixes, don't worry. It took them 4 versions of iOS to figure out how to properly apply Daylight Savings time for alarms so I won't expect them to know how to properly set a timer to take a heart rate.

Many times with my iPod Touch when I set my alarm to 8am, and the time is 8am, but the alarm didn't ring until 9am or 7am in the spring or fall until about iOS 4.3.

Is there any way to roll back to version 1.0? To be honest it had better performance and less bugs...

Has anyone experienced the bug where multitouch stops working? I've had it happen 4 times now and the only solution is to reset the watch

Any updates on this bug?

Main reason I got the Apple Watch was the heart rate monitor.
Mine now only bothers to take a few readings a day now, unless I manually take a reading. It was pretty reliable prior to this update, now it's useless.

Is Apple working on this bug or not? They should be rushing out a patch already.

----------

Something funny I discovered since .01:
1. remove your watch
2. Access the heart rate glance
Notice that now the green light stays on - on 1.0 it would understand there's no skin there and just stop.
Now, it stays on, and after a little while will start display a heartbeat!!
Apparently the air in my apartment is pretty healthy at 64bpm
My trust for these numbers just went down by a lot :(
I've noticed that also. Green light stays on for ages when removed from wrist

If this type of bug happens when Apple is operating normally, I'd hate to see the update which they rush out. Next the Apple Watch won't be able to display the time properly. I guess it works better as a torch now though

Hey Macrumors, about following up with Apple about this issue? Since you wrote your original piece on May 22, nothing has changed and the issue persists.

Apple has said nothing publicly about it .. isn't it responsible journalism to follow up on any issue you have reported on previously?

Exactly, very disappointing about how Apple still hasn't address this critical issue for more than a week!

AppleCare just confirmed

AppleCare just called me back to confirm the update via version 1.01 to "not track heart rate every 10minutes" was intentional and that I should submit a "feature request" via the following website:
http://www.apple.com/feedback/watch.html

This is ridiculous!

I even said: the promotional materials all say it will take one's heart rate, etc, etc...they said the websites and promotional materials will be updated in the next day or so.

Looks like this may be getting returned to an Apple store sometime this weekend. Ugh.

So let's see ... we are supposed request a FEATURE that was a FEATURE and no longer is a FEATURE because of a new FEATURE that featured in 1.0.1.

This get's more ridiculous every day ..

And still not one blog/news organization (including MacRumors) has followed up with Apple to get the real story .. shameful.

Hey Juli Clover ... how about an update on this.

The issue persists, publically, Apple has been mum on the subject.

I am sure you guys have contacts at Apple, how about asking again?

Ugh. Why??? I guess it's to save power, but the battery was fine before anyway? It's kind of useless to have a heart rate monitor that monitors every 10 hours...

I guess measuring the heart rate of the air is also a feature

----------

"And throughout the day, Apple Watch measures your heart rate every 10 minutes and stores it in the Health app."
If they have removed this on purpose then it comes under false and misleading advertising.

It was updated today. The thread in the apple watch forum on the 1.0.1 HR bug has a comparison of the before and after info.

It now only checks and records it when your arm is not in motion....so stupid
