are you really not impressed with the fingerprint sensor? I find myself picking up my ipad and wanthing to unlock with my finger. That basically tells me this technology is here to stay.

Well, 64 bit can't really be fully and efficiently utilized with 4 GB of ram.

I agree with OP, 5s is really not much faster than the OLD 5 in real world tests and usage. It is only fast in paper. There are reviews that say the same thing.

From 5 to 5s = a minor upgrade.

I am going to wait for the 6. The rumors it is going to be a 4.8 inch screen.

Yeah but thats another year. No way I can wait that long. Next year, I will be getting the 6 as well. In the mean time I got the 5s and no need to convince myself it's not worth the upgrade.

I like the space gray but it's in a case so I don't care what color it is as long as I can sell it in a year.

Husband hates the fingerprint scanner. He says I guess if you are a well moisturized woman or a man with soft hands it's fine but for a working man it doesn't work well. He turned it off after programming it for his nose, nipple, big toe, ear lobe, dog paw and all the other stupid stuff men do.

I agree! There's no going back; it's how I routinely gain access to my iPhone now!

I can't wait to see the fingerprint sensor used more in the future, for logging into websites and such!

It's revolutionary and is here to stay, indeed.

Watch all the copy-cat Androids start coming out with fingerprint technology, but it will take them a year or two to perfect it.

Didn't an android phone already have a fingerprint scanner?
If so, wasn't that revolutionary, and the 5s is more evolutionary?

I have a 5s and have access to a 5. The 5s is definitely an upgrade over the 5. The 5s is definitely the faster phone. Some apps you can't tell but with the heavier apps, there's a significant difference. Camera also better especially in low light. If you are expecting a major difference, you won't find it but when it comes to intensive apps, the 5s shines big time. Here's an example: http://youtu.be/NTp_zzPcCEo

Perhaps ONE of what, 5000 different past Android smartphone models?

Did that ONE Android model ever mass market to anywhere near the level of an iPhone? Or even to a lesser extent, something such as a Samsung Galaxy S#? Or to even a tenth of the level of an HTC ONE or DROID X?

Sorry but yes, Apple has paved huge headway for this; you watch other models of the 'droidian-type spring up like popcorn over the coming years. And that, my friend, is revolutionary.

So of you have an iphone 5 fear not you are not missing much and still have the latest iphone (5C) just in last years metal case. 5S is not as big an update as you might expect.

Anyone who expects the 5s to be a "big" update from the 5 hasn't been paying attention to the reviews or Apple's previous form.

I'm totally delighted with it as an upgrade from the 4s, however.

*Slow motion is good but don't see why the 5 couldn't do this?

Because the image sensor inside isn't capable of 120FPS.

When it comes to photo/video, most of your ability depends on your camera hardware. Because the image sensor/camera in the 5S supports 120FPS, it can do the slow motion, but the 5 lacks this ability due to its hardware. That's why.

If Safari isn't noticeably faster for you on complex websites then the bottleneck must be your network, I'm often that surprised how fast a site loads on LTE that I need to do a double take.
