I’ve had this issue (kind of) almost since I got my 11 pro max in September. My issue isn’t really when it unlocks, it’s just anytime there is a gray background (no other color) and the brightness is all the way down that the entire bottom corner looks very green. I accidentally left the screen on overnight without it automatically locking, and always assumed it was just some screen burn in from the messages app (it’s on my bottom row on the right side), but I’m not sure. I’m still on 13.3 so I’m sure it’s not this issue though

What is guess is happening is they have true-tone enabled to adjust the temperature of the screen. And when it’s super dark at night and the screen is at the lowest brightness setting, there’s not a whole lot of light to adjust to. Especially if most of the lights coming from the screen are greens, blues, and yellows from the control center, the phone may even be adjusting to that light and producing a green output.

Don’t believe I’ve ever seen this on my 11 (or my X when I had it). I always have TrueTone and auto brightness enabled on my devices and the displays always look crisp and clean.

Weird. Fortunately it didn’t happen on my 11 Pro or on my son’s 11, but seems to be software.

Since upgrading to 13.5.1 I have had more problems with the phone freezing for 30-60 seconds at a time. Across multiple apps
Restore it because it is not a common issue.

This has happened several times on my 11 Pro when brightness is on the lowest setting and in a dark environment. Have True Tone enabled.

Folks, here is what is going on. Apple has NEVER heard of an issue with screen color changing temperature. The Senior Advisor I spoke to said she has been working on iOS for over 20 years and if there was an issue, she would have heard about it by now because the iPhone 11 has been out for nearly a year and Apple has talked to each and every iPhone 11 customer and talks to well over 1 billion customers an hour. So, she was able to officially confirm that this is not a wide-spread problem and is unique to my device. To troubleshoot, she said one would need to download the official screen temperature OS from Apple. To do this, you remove your screen and plug it into a computer. Then you place your screen in restore mode, which will trigger a download of a fresh copy of the screen temperature OS. After you've done the fresh installation, DO NOT restore your screen temperature from backup. If the issue persists, you will need to collect some logs and send them to engineering. To do this, you'll need to remove your screen, plug the screen into the computer, run a Sysdiagnose, with Mail logging enabled, and submit the compressed log files to Apple. Engineering will reply in 24-48 hours.

Personally, I find it very attractive. When can I order a green-tinted one?

13.4.1 - have this but only when it’s dark and the display is auto dimmed.
Also around the same time this started I started not being able to close the app farthest to the right in the stack view ( when swiping up from bottom)

so app “x” is in the right no matter if I exit stack mode and re- enter - I cant close it, if I open a new app “y” then I can now close X , but Y is now stuck - after some minutes it’s back to normal (locking ( or licking as my iPhone just autocorrected to), don’t fix it - only reboot or random zz minutes.

I encountered this issue since January 2020. I thought it was a bug. But after a couple of iOS update and it was still appearing, I considered it to be a hardware problem. Did all the kinds of resets that I can do on my own including the DFU mode so many times. But the issue still persist. Brought it to apple service provider and even their engineers couldn’t address the problem. I even had a couple of videos submitted to them but their unskilled technician said that it was normal. The most annoying thing is, everytime I have to wake my phone I need to have my other phone already shooting a video hoping that I’ll get a chance to get the issue recorded because this issue is persistent but appears so randomly. In the end I sold my iphone 11 pro because of annoyance.

A barely noticeable green tint that happens rarely and only stays for a few seconds bothered you? Uh huh. Alrighty.

If you cared to read the posts you would have realized that it’s not a ‘few seconds’ for many people.....

The article states few seconds, users in this thread state few seconds and the only person to mention 5-10 mins was talking about a MacBook not a phone.

I speak as someone who has actually experienced this problem. Please show me what I’m missing.

I will be very happy to trade phones so you can be the newest member of the 'not a few seconds' club :)

I get this all the time still, has anyone determined whether this is a software bug or a hardware issue??

Just happened to me last night. Actually stuck around for 5+ seconds too. I’ve only noticed it 6? Times total I think. Been awhile since I had my last one. Lol

Just experienced it as well. iPhone 11 Pro, very dark environment. Green-ish tint for a couple of seconds then back to normal. Hope it is indeed software and getting fixed, still scares me and makes me anxious about the phone. o_O

I called Apple Support. The issue is not acknowledged by Apple but the person I talked to said they were not aware of the issue but they know there are other cases reported.

They made an appointment for me to have it diagnosed but I’m hesitant as I don’t have proof and if they run their tool, I’m sure it will say nope, all good.

Anyone got a replacement? Same issue appeared, afterward?

That is a very good question.

Since I've started to notice it, is experience it many times a week - always during evening hours when display brightness is low. Maybe it was there before, maybe it happens during the day as well?

I am a bit annoyed by it - if only we knew it was just software and everything is going to be fine.

I have not contacted Apple yet, I am on AppleCare however, I just can't get to a store at the moment.

I got my replacement yesterday. It’s still there, so don’t bother changing your phone. I mean I got a 100% battery instead of 95% and I didn’t mind backing up / restoring but for some I understand it can be a waste of time.
We’ll have to wait for an iOS update, I guess.

Interesting! Sorry to hear that it’s still occurring, but great that you see the positives out of it. I’m down to 99% battery so I wouldn’t dare... but I hope we get a fix soon.

It only happens to me once or twice a month! Either that or I'm too insensitive to notice it happening. I only notice it at night when I'm reading in bed without any ambient light (brightness on low). It'll happen once or twice every other week and I can't get it to happen again no matter what I do.

But probably doesn't help that once I curl up in bed, I read for 5-10 mins then go to sleep (not a lot of screen on/off actions).
