I am having this exact issue. Wireless CarPlay is laggy and disconnects / reconnect on both of my vehicles. I assumed I had a defective iPhone and was going to swap it out. Phone is paired with an Apple Watch Ultra 3. Also, the new iPhone doesn't find the 6G wifi in my house.

I regret upgrading tbh. The migration was messy with a couple of my authenticator apps locking me out, apple watch had to be rebooted 4-5 times before pairing, cellular activation took a while, and I lost all my saved bluetooth devices aside from airpods lol. Took me a good 4-5 hours to get up and running, most likely because the servers were slammed.

The 17 pro is also noticeably heavier and bulkier than my 15 pro, and you can see a thin aluminum border around the screen next to the silicone case border so the screen doesnt disappear into a slab of black glass anymore

Don't even get me started on the hot mess that is ios 26. Visual glitches, lag, and UI bugs everywhere

I should have just paid $79 for a new battery in my 15 pro, stuck to 18.7, and waited another year for the foldable.

The "it just works" advantage is slowly fading away at apple

Since the article states that it’s unknown if the issue is related to hardware or software, ending it by stating the chip is unreliable is highly irresponsible.

No WiFi problems with my N1-equipped Air. Bluetooth was kinda wonky on setup as the phone had trouble seeing some third-party devices in pairing mode - Sony neckbuds and my Omron blood pressure cuff. It eventually worked itself out so I'm good now.

Just a quick note to share my experience with an intermittent Wi-Fi issue on my new iPhone 17 Pro Max.

After trying several fixes, including force restarts and resetting network settings, I contacted Apple Support. They ran a diagnostic test, which confirmed there were no known hardware problems.

We then looked into VPN settings. Although my VPN wasn't actively connected or attempting to connect, the fix turned out to be deleting all my existing work VPN configurations and removing the VPN app entirely. Once I reinstalled the app and re-added the VPN configuration, Wi-Fi continued to work perfectly.

Hopefully, this helps anyone else who encounters the same problem until a bug fix is released.

This is more of a software bug; it occurs only if you have an Apple Watch connected to your iPhone and it's on your wrist. Just trigger the lock screen on your phone, and the WiFi turns off afterward, then turns back on again.

I'm getting this. A reddit user went through the analytics logs for their iPhone and saw it's a firmware issue, the drivers for the new WiFi chip keep crashing or something. Another user filed a ticket with Apple and it's been moved to high priority -- Apple are aware. Will hopefully get addressed very soon.

Haven't had any disconnects, but I do notice that my CarPlay is being displayed at a lower bitrate than with my 13PM. Looks blurry/laggy at times.

Not only is the new range of iPhones affected, but also the iPhone 16 Pro Max, which is experiencing intermittent Wi-Fi connectivity issues. I had thought it was just an iOS 26 beta issue, but after wiping and reinstalling the latest version, I am still experiencing the problem.

Just got my new air yesterday. Disconnected/reconnected to CarPlay 5 times on my way into to work today. About a 50 minute commute.

I think with any new product it’s best to just wait out a month or two and let the bugs be ironed out before purchasing. Thank you for those who have bought in the first week these devices so Apple are aware and can sort this out for the rest of us. The Apple community thanks you for this 🙂

iPhone Air user here. Haven’t had any issues whatsoever. And I use my phone as a hotspot as well. Haven’t had a single disconnect or disturbance.

Weird as Wi-Fi stability is rock solid in the house, but with Wireless CarPlay it’s an absolute disaster. Hopefully it’s as simple as firmware issue that they can quickly patch.
