Thinner phone made of aluminum which is a malleable metal. Can't say that I'm surprised. Disappointed yes, surprised no :(

Really? My HTC One M8 is primarily aluminum and I keep it in my pockets all the time without any bending, and I have had it since release day 6 months ago.

Kinda saw this coming. As much trouble as people seemed to have with the 5s bending, seems unavoidable that the same would happen to the 6, and especially the 6+.

I very, very seldom put my phone in my pocket anyway, but I'll be keeping this in mind.

Good design isn't just about making a smartphone ever thinner or more beautiful--but practical. If the device can't survive in reasonable, real world usage then there is a problem.

Now we'll hear from people that will insist that putting a smartphone in your pocket is irresponsible and reckless abuse.

if you feel pressure on the phone when you are sitting down, your pants are too tight for the phone....

get pants with bigger pockets or get an iPhone 6

Was wondering when this would be posted as an article. :) I have a feeling it wouldn't bend if we broke our normal habit of pointing the screen towards our thigh. If the screen (glass side) was pointing away from the thigh, then it wouldn't bend.

No you'd just have a shattered screen instead

I would never store a 5.5" phone in my pants, that's just asking for issues given how thin it is. Even I'm afraid my iPod touch 5G will bend.

Ill take this article into consideration when I can get my hands on an iPhone 6 Plus.... in about 3-4 weeks.

But thank you for another reminder of all the issues people are having with their iPhone 6 Plus

Instead of the front pocket of his suit pants, he should've put it in an inside suit coat pocket (if he had one).

I agree. Who walks around with a gigantic smartphone in his front pocket at a wedding and even dances with it? Who doesn't take it out when driving / sitting by the table?

Will there ever be iPhone released without any issue? I think the last iPhone with no issue was iPhone 3GS (..or atleast i don't recall any issue with it)

Does anyone have any idea of Samsung note (any version) bending ?

This is quite a serious problem. I wonder if apple didn't anticipate this, or they didn't come across this issue during their quality assurance testing. I wonder if were going to hear something from them regarding this.

What would they say? Free replacement program if you bend your iPhone in your pocket? :)

Perhaps something like the following:

"Regarding recent reports from an unspecified number of users who have experienced the failure of the structural integrity of their iPhone 6 Plus, we have begun an internal investigation into the reasons for this. Our engineers recommend in the meantime to store your device in a place where the phone will not experience high amounts of stress applied to a localised point."

In short, they are saying that WTF did you expect?

This is horrible, I would never put that much pressure leaning against my phone. Come on MAN!

I sit on my iPhone 5S all the time!! Ok, ok, I know that didn't come out sounding well. Aside from that, its kinda surprising to think that Apple didn't anticipate this and build a phone that could handle it. If my iPhone 6 Plus bends after sitting on it, I'll be pretty disappointed. :(

How is that? Why couldn't it just bend the other way?
